Hotel Petit Palais

We had read some of the negative reviews but have learned to take as you find. We loved staying here. The location is perfect for the lift station and our room looked right over the mountains. The room was basic but comfortable and clean. The hotel is warm. There is a handy fridge in the room. I asked for extra pillows and they arrived 5 minutes after asking. The bar area has a good feeling and the drink is are very reasonable. The staff are nice and the music is good. The boot room is great! We booked our skis independently and brought our own boots. The restaurant serves basic food which is well presented and tasty. The provision of water and wine with dinner is excellent. The staff are great too. We met lots of great people during our stag and were sorry to leave. Would definitely return.

Hotel rooms and facilities are great. Modern room great WiFi comfy bed warm and cosy. Room was also quiet. Bar was great lively atmosphere good beers. Food is a let down. Breakfast was ok and the buffet was too. Main courses and pasta pretty poor. They offer quantity not quality Should be straight forward to fx they just need a good experienced chef Access . To town was ok although bit of a hill climb back. Location to the lifts was as good as it gets without ski in ski out Boot room great. For groups and people who are not 5 star it was good value for money Could be soo much better if they just sorted out the food

Not sure we can say how terrible this was - Italian hospitality gone badly wrong - worst experience of my life - ordered beef with tomato sauce and got turkey curry - seriously- which was beyond terrible Also supposed to get :5 ltr wine Worst ever

Good location for the ski lifts 100m walk. The shower cubicle in my room was very dirty around the base . The food was very disappointing, very basic school dinnerish . Breakfast choice was aimed at brits . No nice hams and cheese or local breads. Sliced bread only. I expected more having skied for more than 40 years I have seen a lot of ski hotels

The hotel has beautiful views of the Matterhorn and is a short walk to the main gondola, although can sometimes be a slippery walk to it. The walk into town is approximately 10-15 minutes down some slippery steps. The walk from where the coach drops you off is also 10-15 minutes uphill, most other hotels put on a mini bus but this hotel just transport your suitcases. The hotel is clean and tidy and the rooms are perfectly adequate. The food here is just ok, the hot and cold starters are self service with the hot starters usually being cold - we avoid any chicken or fish hot starters just in case. The next two courses are table service but small portions- you select your choice at dinner for the following day. In general the food was ok if the hot starters had been warm the amount of food would have been fine. The ski hire in the shop had limited options and was worn compared to the hire shop quality in town. The boot room isn’t big enough for the amount of guests and skis and snowboards are dumped on top of other skis. It’s a three star hotel, hopefully the hotel listen to the reviews and try to improve the food and ski hire. I would still go back to the hotel due to the price however I would probably hire skis etc from the town next time. I would also ask for a Mountain View room as it’s stunning.

Good 3 star hotel, great mountain views from the bar and restaurant, close to the ski lifts, quiet location away from noisy Apres Ski bars. Hotel could do a better job in cleaning the driveway as it was icy, going downhill with ski boots is dangerous. Food was pletifull, good variety, tasty, free water, free wine jugs. Presentation of the 2nd main serving could be improved so it does not look like it was served in a school canteen. Hotel staff lovely and helpful. Rooms were good, nice hot showers, enough storage space, rooms warm but bit stuffy. Bathroom needed some small maintenance, like the sink plug was not working properly. On-site ski rental shop not so good, short in staff, not great choice for the gear, not enough attention given to customers, the guy forgot to adjust one of my skis, only found that out on top of the ski lift, had to go to another ski shop and ask to get the ski and boot adjusted.
