The Falcon Hotel

We managed to get a 5 day break in at a Bespoke Sanctuary in Low Town Bridgenorth. Our hosts Celia and Kev said they had received really good feedback from guests who had visited The Asian Restaurant located inside The Falcon. So we visited on our last night there, Sunday night 10th November. We opted for the £17 50p per person option. Starters consisted of a sharing platter, well enough for 2 people. This consisted if 3 seperate selections of Asian street food- each dish was beautifully presented, and each dish was delicious. We then ordered 2 main meals, 1 Rice, 1 nan bread. The food is absolutely top notch, everything hot , served promptly and presented beautifully. We both cleared our plates. Service was without doubt exceptional, attention to detail is second to none. The restaurant is warm, very clean, friendly and inviting. The place was busy for a Sunday evening. All in all we had a great evening, even better we were only 3 minutes walk away from our resting place. We would highly recommend a visit to this Restaurant, you will not be disappointed. We will definitely be paying this Gem of a find again and again. Well done to all the staff for your attention to detail, friendly service and the Best Food that we have tasted in a long time. Not first time I have stayed at the falcon and will be coming back again next year great nights sleep, lovely breakfast, bar even served proper ales, shops and bars close by and not far at all to the vernacular railway to get up to high town, not from Severn valley railway either, had a fantastic weekend

Excellent pleasant service and lovely breakfast, room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again. Don’t be put off that’s it is in low town, plenty of pubs and eateries near by and free parking behind the pub. There is also an award winning Asian street food restaurant on site that we intend to visit next time we are in the area. Menu looked great.

We sampled the Thalio restaurant at the Falcon for the first time recently and wondered why we had not been before. The whole experience was brilliant. Friendly staff who were ever helpful and knowledgable with a sense of humour (they needed it serving us) and the food was simply superb, Asian food at its best in fact. A quality dining experience and, certainly based on our first experience, is fully recommended by us.

I personally think that the Falcon Hotel in bridgenorth, is over priced for the room, that was offered to me, also the food was very expensive. I paid £150 a night, for three nights, costing me £450. The room was up in the attic ,there was beam over the kitchenette, also one over the toilet in the bathroom, which was low and had NO sign to say mind your head, I bumped my head several times. The other side of the room, the ceiling sloped over the bed, so a person getting into the bed on the right side, had to bend over to get into bed. The room was hot, and the fan was to small for the size of the room, if you open the window to let the air in, it was too noisy as there was a very busy road outside. I am 71 years old, and I was put on the top floor, were their the steps was steep to get to the room.

The Falcon Hotel is in the lower part of Bridgnorth town. It is situated on the main street and is within walking distance of the river. Going in that direction, the funicular railway is there to take you to the upper part of town. It was fun to use this ancient method to get up the hillside. The hotel itself was very clean and the bedroom was very comfortable. The staff were exceptionally friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel restaurant is an Indian restaurant, so the delicious evening meal was something of a novelty. An English breakfast was provided. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area again.
