Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel recensioner

The hotel is centrally located and reading from some history records, this is also the first purpose built hotel in Bristol. The street it is located is full of history. As a business traveler, the room needs a proper table for us to work. This is the only things that missing.

The hotel is very conveniently located in central Bristol, making it a great base for exploring the city. The room itself was quite spacious, featuring a comfortable bed and a good shower. However, one issue I encountered was the heating— it wasn’t working during my stay, and each room had been provided with a small electric heater instead. This wasn’t mentioned at any point prior to booking or even at check-in, which was disappointing. The heater provided was quite small for the size of the room, and if the weather had been any colder, it likely wouldn’t have been sufficient to keep the room warm. Service at the front desk was also a bit slow. I tried calling reception multiple times using the in-room phone over the course of a few hours, but no one ever answered. The hotel does offer amenity kits, which is a nice touch—especially as many hotels seem to have done away with them. However, the breakfast was a bit pricey for what was offered, which may not be the best value for money. Overall, the location and room size were great, but the heating issue, slow service, and expensive breakfast could use improvement.

Worst hotel visited in the UK. Arrived at 3:40, room was not ready they did nothing just kept us waiting for a long time. When we got to the room it smelled of bleech. Horrible lift, it was a 1000 years old. Small rooms with ugly cheap decor. Only plus point was the good location. Definitly will not go back in the future...

Very upset with the Breakfast options available for vegetation. Not worth paying £120 (a night) and finding such a limited food options. I would not recommend staying.

Good hotel and a nice room, expected it to be slightly bigger but was very nice and clean. Parking at this hotel is not ideal but the location is great.

Good location and interesting collection of artwork in the hotel. Walls are a bit thin - kept awake by other guests. Checking in was also really slow even after we checked in online

Really nice rooms with friendly staff. Car park is very very tight!

Centrally located. Beautiful old building, with rather strange modern/industrial trusts in rooms. Regular double room was rather tight on space. Bathroom large and great shower. Bit chilly in the evening, an electric heater was provided but did not work. I discovered later that none of the (10!!) plug sockets in the room worked.

Good location- clean- spacious room- no gym or pool hotel information is not updated-breakfast is all right.

We enjoyed our stay here, except that the air con was broken so they provided 2 fans. There were a lot of good options for breakfast and the staff were friendly and helpful. Location is excellent.

Great hotel in the centre of Bristol, with a large bathroom, the bed was a little lumpy
