Broadus Motel

Another reason I love eastern Montana. The ability to walk into a motel in late evening, get a reasonable room for cash and not get shot because of the PRC JAIL coat I was wearing. Admittedly it was "hunter orange" and the lady likely didn't see the back but had enough fun the last 24 hours. This was just a Get Through Night until figuring out a way back home in the morning. And while the jail was comfortable enough, my room was 5-star Rivieria in comparison. Cared for nothing else so no in-depth review other than a good stay. Extra points for the GENEROUS supply of in-room coffee. Have worked motels in East Glacier and in my opinion had good, fast and friendly service at the front desk; only contact as managed to wrangle a ride home very early the next day. FTR: the legal hassle was essentially a paperwork glitch and all vanished history a few days later. The coat was given to me because I only had a t-shirt and honestly thought letters were more faded (sure I looked but focus on departure). Extra points for Broadus in general for everybody being friendly anyway; how could they know the story?

I am completely mystified by the 5 star reviews of this place and those saying it was clean. We spent 1 night here and I would never do it again. We were traveling across the state and wanted a place past Billings, but before Rapid City. There’s not a ton of options and 2 were booked for the night before I called here. I made the reservation over the phone with no problem. Check in was fine, the guy was friendly and offered a kitchenette at the same price. Our room was not at the location of check in, but 2 blocks back to the west. Maybe the rooms by the check in are better than the other building? When we walked into the hall we were greeted by an old musty smell. The carpet in the hallway needs replaced (probably several years ago). The room itself was a good size, but had the same musty odor. The carpet and linoleum need replaced. The air conditioner did work well, which is about the only good thing I can say about this room. One of the light fixtures was this weird hanging light probably from the 1970’s, which I wouldn’t have an issue with except it had a shelf hanging below it that was dusty and there were cobwebs on it. One of the bed headboards was hanging crooked on the wall. The smoke detector was hanging sideways on the wall and looked like it was about to fall off. The pillows were terrible ranging from super hard to all lumpy. The bathroom towels were awful. One has a stain on it, one had hair on it, and the one my husband used looked like Swiss cheese when you held it up in the light and saw all the thread bare spots! There was a washcloth folded on the sink that was so old every edge was fringed. There was hair in the bathtub. THERE WAS A POOP SMEAR ON THE BACK OF THE TOILET SEAT!!!! This is what I paid $129 plus tax for. Buyers beware! We should’ve stopped in Billings or driven the extra 2 hours or so to Rapid City. This was definitely in the top 2 of the worst places I’ve ever stayed!

Traveling through and needed a place to stop for the night. Not many options in the area and this was the only place with openings for $100. Needs some updating as far as carpet, decor, bathroom tile, there were some stains on ceiling. Overall room was clean, bed was good, shower worked (hot water handle a little touchy if you went too far in either direction), staff was friendly. Was fine for what we needed.

Very clean and comfortable. The man at the reception was very welcoming and helpful. Broadus is a nice small town near Little Big Horn and also has a small museum, Restaurants nearby as well as a grocery store. Good place to stop over on your Montana road trip.

Ekk-Arrived at dark- guy helping me came from the outside top rooms somewhere (thought it was someone staying there), he was very friendly and nice- sent me 2 blocks down to a building with only red rope lights on the outside. Very dark, very creepy. Kids were scared. Couldn’t see my car from the room, have to walk in between buildings outside (unknown area) to eventually find room. Room was filthy. Flies all over, moths, some bug on floor. I did remove all bedding to check for bed bugs and thankfully didn’t see any. TP on floor, who knows what on the walls, hands soap pump for shower soap. Carpet is nasty feeling- so we wore shoes at all times. Bed was surprisingly comfortable- however I didn’t sleep well in fear of the place. Never was told anything about free breakfast- and didn’t see anything in the building I was in. Not worth the cost for what it was. Needs major updating/cleaning/lighting

Where do I begin … I’ve never written a review before but feel compelled to let others know our experience. We’ve been through Broadus many times so decided to make this our first overnight stop. We reserved our room 9 days in advance. When we checked in we were directed to a white building 2 blocks away, not the hotel attached to the office. The room was filthy - rug had not been vacuumed, floors were sticky, bathroom floor had something foreign on it, curtains were falling off, light sconce (or maybe a smoke alarm?) was hanging off the wall and covered with a plastic bag, walls were dirty with splashed liquid of some sort. I thought I’d be brave and make coffee in the morning, but the coffee pot was as dirty and sticky as the rest of the room. And moths everywhere. We were never told about a free breakfast so I’m not sure where that would have been. We frequent mom and pop motels and have had great experiences over the years. This was not a good experience. It was by far the worst place we have slept. Definitely not worth the rate they charge.
