Hilltop Motel

A lovely clean and tidy stay. Freshly renovated. They upgraded its to a family room which was spacious and comfortable. Nice views over city. Only criticism is lack of crockery and cutlery for simple in room meal although cups, microwave, toaster and jug were supplied.

Small but perfect. The motel is older style but has been skilfully refurbished. Room smaller than average, but beautifully clean. Fittings are new, bed super comfy. And best of all it’s quiet. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the on-site Restaurant Bettina’s. It is a couple of minutes drive to Main Street, Uber and cabs plentiful

We have known this motel since construction in the 1960s. The Wotif review reports guests raving about a delicious breakfast in the property's dining room. When I asked for the breakfast menu and for it be served in room, I was told "we don't do that anymore", and "There are plenty of places doing breakfast in the main street.” We have a nice restaurant!! We had a spa room, there was hair left in the spa. The pocket door into the bathroom was jammed open and could not be dislodged. Clearly this was not important to the owners, who did not apologize at any stage. My wife overheard the owner complaining loudly in a public area that I had the audacity to be displeased. She introduced herself to the owner – but no apology was presented for this rudeness. When we returned to the room the door had been pulled to the closed position, but it would not open fully without jamming. Not fixed, just forced closed, leaving a feeling that the owner had done so spitefully. We persevered with a half size door opening for the remained of our stay rather than deal with the owner. Parking is constricted, a high concrete step can damage correctly parked vehicles. New bedside lights and king size bed, but the GPO is behind the mattress and cannot be used. The outside furniture is old and decrepit. False, misleading and rude proprietors who do not understand hospitality. The owners are reliant on contractors, leisure travelers are clearly an imposition. We will not recommend this motel.

Our room was so clean and had everything we needed. The shower was awesome. I loved the aircon set up as it was not blowing on us. And the sink basin was such a practical solution. It was a shame we never had Foxtel but not a deal breaker. We only had one meal in the restaurant, but it was delicious and a big serve. There was a laundry and clothesline if needed. The weather was hot, and we used the pool daily. It was always refreshing, needs a little love but did not deter us. The staff were friendly and happy to help. I would recommend this motel to family and friends

The room was clean but stayed 2 nights and no service whatsoever to the room Ate at the restaurant both nights First night waited 35 minutes just for a main Food wasn’t bad though Second night waited an hour for just main Only 3 couples in the restaurant before us so not busy Told only 1 chef Then had 2 tables that came in after us get entree before us To add insult I ordered the Barramundi and was served Nile perch Restaurant rates no star

Quiet location, bit further out of town. Rooms fully refurbished and well equipped with microwave toaster and kettle, also table and chairs but quite small. Pool was great to cool off but needs serious maintenance to edges. On-site restaurant served good food but steak WAS NOT Medium!
