Holiday Inn Review I was the bus driver for the Concordia Seward, Nebraska Cheer and Dance teams. They had Been competing at the Concordia Wisconsin Campus. I had gathered my bus driving gear, but in my rush to get to campus I forgot my SUITCASE! Home being 9 hours away from the hotel, I thought, how would I get my suitcase back! The Hotel manager went above and beyond in helping to get my suitcase returned. He personally delivered it to UPS! I would never have retrieved it without his help. Extra service like this is almost unheard of these days. This Holiday Inn Express gets Golden reviews from me. Tim from Nebraska

I have a reservation for July 13-16 and now have COVID. The manager told me this is a non-refundable reservation which cost me $770. King bed with pull out sofa. I am very disappointed in this hotel not making an exception due to illness!! I’d be happy with a 50% refund. Harley convention in town this weekend so it’s not like it won’t get booked. :(

Stayed there for one night to be close to an event in downtown Milwaukee. We had a king size room with sofa (room 227). Room appeared to be updated. Bed was very comfortable. Very clean- the entire hotel. Smell was pleasant. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was as expected & an added value convenience. If you are looking for a place to stay at less than half the cost of downtown Milwaukee hotels, this is a great place.

Was supposed to stay the weekend of September 16-17 for a soccer tournament. A week before the stay needed to cancel Friday night. Called hotel and they *allegedly* canceled the part of my reservation for Friday night. Looked at my reservation on IHG and it now showed that my reservation was completely changed to Sunday-Monday. Called hotel back twice and was assured that my reservation was showing up on their end as Saturday-Sunday, so I had nothing to worry about. Guess what, called yesterday to confirm my reservation and was told that my reservation was for Sunday-Monday and that there were no longer any rooms available for Saturday. Now have to find another hotel at a higher price last minute. Incompetence all around. Will not try to stay here again.

This hotel is clean and fairly quiet. The cinnamon rolls are great. However, there are some serious managerial problems. At 9:30 am on the morning of checkout, I was preparing for my day when housekeeping knocked on the door. I went up to the door and said, “We don’t need housekeeping.” She keyed in anyway and saw me in my underwear. I didn’t have the door double locked because my husband was at breakfast. Apparently, housekeeping does not have an updated list of who has checked out. The manager comped one night, which was a reasonable response, but after reading some recent reviews of this place, it seems to be a common occurrence that employees just barge into occupied rooms. Also, I stayed three nights, and I still have no clue if the pool was open. The signs at check-in said no. One employee said yes. Another employee said no. The sign on the pool entrance said Hotel Employees Only. People were in the pool. Again, poor management.

My wife and I stayed at the Brown Deer Holiday Inn Express May 23-26, 2022. On May 24, just before noon, while my wife was alone in our room, a stranger entered our room without knocking, without a verbal signal, and without hotel credentials at a time when my wife was only half dressed. When she stated, “What are you doing here? Get out of here!” he just stood there. My wife then ran past him into the bathroom and locked herself in, waiting for him to leave. When she felt it was safe to exit the bathroom, she called the front desk, explained what happened, and asked the hotel staff member to monitor the hallways so that it doesn’t happen to others. A supervisor came to the room, and when my wife explained what happened, the supervisor stated that the man who entered our room could be the man the hotel hired to do maintenance projects. She told my wife to put the “Do Not Disturb” sign on our door. She never offered an apology to my wife. I later learned that, over the prior day and on that day, 5 other people in our group experienced similar events with a person entering their room, one of which even had the “Do Not Disturb” sign displayed. Later that day I went to the front desk to speak with a manager, but was told that the manager, Rosa, was gone for the day. The next morning, I spoke with Rosa and demanded that the hotel personnel be properly trained and that the occupants of the 6 rooms who experienced this treatment be comped one day’s stay. Upon checking out of the hotel on May 26, I was informed that only my room and one other would be comped, and that I would receive a phone call later that day. I did receive that phone call, but was unable to take it. The next day I returned the phone call and spoke with Rosa. She informed me that Rena (another manager? the owner?) had authorized 4 of those entries by the hotel representative, so only 2 rooms would be comped at a rate not even covering one night’s stay. I replied that I was completely dissatisfied with this, that I was never asked by any hotel employee, “How can we make this right for you?” and that our group would never stay at this hotel again. In addition to the above, we also experienced the following: the pool was closed, the public restroom off the breakfast area was closed, none of the ice machines in the hotel worked, and my room’s HVAC stopped working after the first 24 hours. Needless to say, I did NOT request the services of the hotel’s maintenance department. If you decide to stay at this hotel, do so at your own risk. Keep your door double-locked.
