Templum Clava

Very nice hotel, charming, cosy, thus a great aesthetic! It has everything you need if you go for a city trip like us. The beds are okay(somewhat painful for someone like I who has back problems, because there is a solid wooden plank under the mattress). They serve a great breakfast, something different every day, no buffet style(thank God). You can sit inside downstairs(basement'ish area), or on the terrace (partially sun covered) outside. The hotel is located very close to the 'old city' of Bucharest, so walking(approx. 25-35 minutes) or taking an Uber (costing around 18 Lei) which takes a couple of minutes. There are some nice bars and restaurants (not too mainstream/focused on the masses) around the hotel. All in all, 4.7/5 stars due to the 'hard' beds and not preparing the room in advance for 4 persons. If you feel like booking a room here and you read this, try to contact them directly for a better price for the both of you. Have fun in Bucharest!

This hotel was such a special little find! I was apprehensive to book due to a lack of reviews but I am SO glad I did! We stayed at the hotel for three glorious nights with our son. For the entire stay I felt like a VIP due to the surroundings and service. The staff at the hotel literally cannot do enough for you. Our flight was massively delayed and we didn’t arrive until 2:00 am. We were still greeted with swift check in and a smile. The Breakfast is OUTSTANDING!!!!! For the three days we were in Bucharest we didn’t (couldn’t) eat lunch as we were so full!!!!! It was also a lovely touch to be able to eat it on the beautiful terrace area. The craftsmanship and renovation of the property is breathtaking - it’s so nice to see quality restoration work on such a beautiful building. All the fixtures, fittings and appliances are top end - well done to all involved. When/ if we head back to Bucharest (to hopefully tick off the Transylvania trips!) we will ABSOLUTELY stay here. Thank you for such a special stay!

What an incredible hotel. On arrival there was a family function going on which gave the hotel a real air of excitement. We were shown to our room only to find we had been upgraded to a suite - absolutely amazing rooms. The entire hotel is beautifully restored without a thing out of place but it feels warm and not austere. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind. Breakfast, in the stunning brick basement floor, was fabulous. A mixture of cold meats, salad, eggs, olives and fresh bread. We also got freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh yogurt. We also are in the restaurant in the evening and had a wonderful meal with just the two of us there. The hotel was only a 20 min walk from the centre of Old Town which meant we could walk through areas we may have missed of we had been right in the centre. We were also able to discover some great eating places including Mantuleasa 40 where we had some great local food. I would definitely return to Templum Clava.
