I'd like to think of something nice to say about this hotel, but I can't think of anything. It is very, very dated and has signs posted asking us to pardon their remodel, but it doesn't appear that any action is being taken to remodel. I wanted to go for a drink before bed, but the smell in the hall outside of the bar area deterred me. The staff is rude and doesn't understand the first thing about hospitality or making one feel welcome. I usually prefer to stay in local hotels when possible, but the next time I'm in Buckhannon, I'll be selecting a chain, or staying over in Weston.

The 2nd floor was so loud it was like a frat house, with slamming doors and people drunkenly yelling. We checked in at 4, and the house was so bad we left at 9. They had 3 events including a wedding. I called about the noise and they let me know when the events would be ending but did nothing. Also, most of the time no one was attending the front desk.

The room was dated, but exceptionally clean. The furniture was old, but not worn. It had USB connections for phones, etc. A writing desk was provided for business/laptop usage. Coffee was available in the room. The bed was exceptionally comfortable accompanied by pillows that were pleasant to sleep on. There was ample parking to the front and side of the building. Reception Staff was efficient, courteous, and professional. The woman was especially helpful with regard to providing anything the guest needed. Breakfast was not served in the morning.

This was a little out of the way but very reasonably priced so we traveled about 11 miles off the interstate. It was clean, quiet and friendly. The door didn't work at first and they fixed it immediately and apologized too much :) Very close to restaurants and in the morning you could help yourself to coffee and a large basket of muffins, breads and biscotti's.
