Bude Holiday Resort

We hadn't been to Bude before but have stayed in quite a lot of sites across Devon and Cornwall so we didn't know what to expect. Bude itself is a lovely location with a nice mixture of coastal walks, beaches and activities as well as the town having lots of independent shops to browse. The Away Resorts site is relatively small but is well maintained and the reception staff were friendly and helpful upon our arrival, in fact before we arrived we had a courtesy phone call to say our lodge was ready early and we could check in whether ready. We had a lodge on the 'Duckpool' area of the site, all the grass verges are kept nice and the lodge itself was very clean with everything you need, there was a proper big TV in the living room as well as in the double bedroom. Unlike some sites it is nice that you are given free unlimited WiFi which you simply log into with a password and not the rigmarole of setting up an account for each individual device. The outdoor swimming pool was really good, our ten year old had great fun in there and it was staffed by two helpful and friendly lifeguards. You have to book a time slot for swimming but there is no charge for this, again unlike some larger sites that charge extra for any activities. The entertainment complex was better than we expected for a relatively small site, there's a bar area with indoor and outdoor seating, an arcade with 2p machines and games, a couple of pool tables. There's a large TV which was showing the FA Cup Final when we were there. The food we had there we took back to the lodge to eat and it was very nice, there was also a good selection of cocktails at the bar. At the back of the site there's a footpath which takes you up to the coastal footpath, this takes you into Bude. It's about a 25 minute walk but a pleasant walk with nice views right across Bude and out to sea. We will most certainly be going back to Bude for a holiday again and we will definitely stay at the Away Resorts site, gem of a find.

Lovely, clean lodge. Staff are attentive and friendly. Everything is kept well and is modern. Me and my husband come here at least three times a year. Lovely peaceful atmosphere! Close to nearby towns Boscastle, Davidstow and great sandy beaches. The local town in Bude has plenty of gift shops and excellent Cornish Pasties and ice cream. What more could we want in a holiday

It was an amazing stay. Myself and my daughter enjoyed being back here after 7 years. Our lodge was absolutely amazing, it had everything we could possibly need and more! Unfortunately we had to leave a night early because I became unwell, but we will definitely be back soon. Thank you for a lovely stay.
