Lovely old fashioned guest house with clean but slightly dated ( furniture wise ) rooms. Our room was a great size. Fabulous attentive staff and a tasty breakfast. The only downside for us was that the springs in the mattresses on the twin beds protruded ( I think they were fairly old) and therefore the beds were a little uncomfortable. The owner assured us on departure that this problem would be attended to.

Excellent B & B. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Room comfortable and good size. Plenty of wardrobes and drawers space which makes a pleasant change. Bathroom small but adequate. Hot water could have been hotter. Breakfasts excellent. Would certainly stay again.

My wife and I have just returned from a lovely relaxing 3 night stay and can highly recommend this Hotel. On arrival, we were met by Brian who was very friendly and genuine. He showed us the areas within the hotel and also our room, number 5. The room was spacious with two big windows overlooking the back garden and The Otter Valley beyond. You could also see a glimpse of the sea. We slept with windows open and it was peaceful and quiet. The bathroom had a fantastic large power shower. The breakfast in the morning was a good choice of fruit, yoghurt and honey and the cooked food was how you liked it with whatever you fancied. We chose to eat breakfast outside and although a little chilly it was a lovely experience. The position of the hotel was a short 10-15 minute walk to the seafront all down hill. I am very familiar with this part of Devon however after spending 3 nights in Budleigh, we feel we overlooked a lovely laid back Devonshire seaside retreat. We would definitely return in the future. I have been staying at this hotel for many years and it never fails to be a happy experience. The accommodation is of a high standard, the atmosphere very relaxing and the owners, Lorraine and Brian, are kind, welcoming and genuinely interested in their guests' well being. I particularly appreciate the conviviality with the other guests who come from all over the world and have many interesting experiences to share. Many thanks also to Dave the chef for his delicious cooked breakfasts and Anna the young lady who looks after the rooms and makes sure the courtesy trays are always well stocked.

The Proprietors were absolutely fantastic. They always had smiles on their face and could not do enough for us. The dining room was so bright and comfortable. Our room was clean, fresh and the amenities were fine. Would definitely go back there

The b&b has a stunning view across the Otter Valley from the back bedrooms, and Brian was a very friendly host. The cooked breakfast was very tasty and the free parking in front of the building was welcome. Pack an eye mask if visiting in summer, as the curtains aren’t very thick, but it’s a very quiet place. The shower takes a while to warm up but persist as it does get there after a few minutes! Overall a lovely place from which to explore the area (including the beavers on the Otter which we were lucky enough to see).

We have just got back from a fantastic few days away at The Long Range. We have stayed at many B&Bs over the years, but this is by far the best. A very warm welcome on our arrival, a friendly greeting every morning at breakfast, which was excellent and cooked to perfection, and a lovely chat in the evenings whilst enjoying the beautiful garden. Brian and Lorraine were perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The bed was lovely and comfortable, the room tastefully decorated, lovely and clean. We will most definitely be back again

Very comfortable stay at this lovely hotel. Room was spotlessly clean and nothing seemed too much trouble. It is obvious that Brian and Lorraine the hosts work very hard for their guests. No evening meal but there are a lot of restaurants within easy walking distance. I stay in a lot of hotels and this is one of the best. I will certainly stay here again when next in the area.
