We stayed here for one night in a double room with private bathroom. The room was small and basic, no wardrobe or table, and no room for our suitcases. Overall it was quite drab with no furniture and little love. We paid US$45, compared to the Puerto Lemon it was not a very good deal. At the Puerto Lemon we paid $47 but the room was much nicer and larger, and came with TV and a window you could open. Both rooms came with Aircon, but in the case of the Circus, there was no remote control so we just turned it on and off on the wall. On the positive side the common areas were quite good. There are some computers for public use, tea and coffee facilities, swimming pool and a billiard table. Being just a few doors up from the Lemon, the location of both hostels is very similar, and quite convenient to some good cafes. Given the state of the room we were allocated I can only award the Circus three stars.

WARNING: DECEPTIVE PRICING, this place will attempt to charge you a different price at CHECK IN TIME basically forcing YOU to either cancel the booking and find alternative accommodation at the last minute (imagine arriving late at night) or pay their dishonest new price. To be clear, I have travelled All OVER Argentina for 2 months and this is the ONLY place that has tried to charge me a different price from the reservation (except minor differences in the exchange rate). There is NO excuse to charge a price different from the reservation I don't care what excuse you have, and they also had made no attempt to contact you beforehand to warn or inform you of different pricing, nor to advertise this REAL price on the booking sites nor did they clearly state such pricing 'rules and exceptions' in their policy (which they falsely claim to btw). It's simple why they don't do the above because if they did they would lose a lot of business and bookings, no one would pay double the price quoted for a hostel dorm (total rip off) when with that same pricing you can get a private room or better at another accommodation. IMPORTANT NOTE: this dishonest establishment even had the AUDACITY to charge my credit card WITHOUT my permission when i clearly stated i would pay in cash with the LEGAL currency in Argentina at the quoted price of the reservation. After I made a complaint to customer support to try to resolve the issue and get them to honor the pricing, they proceeded to try to KICK me out of the hostel saying i wasn't welcome there whilst yet again trying to get ME to cancel the booking. It's the first time this has happened in all my years of travelling, great conflict resolution skills guys, you don't deserve to work in tourism. In the end they charged my credit card (i declined the unauthorised payment) to get my booking cancelled due to non payment so they wouldn't be PENALIZED for not honouring their booking yet even more dishonest behaviour, you be the judge. My recommendation is if this happens to you just go somewhere else, make a complaint to the booking site then leave a honest review to warn unsuspecting future guests. I ended up booking a private suite somewhere else which DID HONOR their reservation pricing for basically the same price they wanted to charge me for a shared dorm, you do the maths.

La atención del recepcionista fue pesima, nada cordial, adicional el costo que habiamos reservado por booking fue un valor diferente cuando hicieron el cambio a argentinos oficiales, ojo con esoo.. tuvimos que pagar la multa porque el precio subia y siento que el recepcionista (un chico que tenia un acento de Bogota) nos quería hacer la jugada de cobrarnos más.

Lamentable experiencia en este hostel. La recepcionista ni siquiera sabia como hacer el checkin. El ascensor no funcionaba y teniamos que ir hasta el 4to piso sin ofrecer habitaciones en la planta baja. El desayuno es con costo a parte de la reserva. Las fotos de los portales no coinciden con la realidad.
