Green Gables Motel & Suites

I believe this holds the prize for being the most expensive, worst hotel I've ever stayed in! A trip to Burney falls should be a day trip from another town with better Hotels and Restaurants...stay in Redding or Shasta

Everything was fine. This is a solid budget hotel. Clean room, comfortable bed, hot water, A/C worked fine and free Wi-Fi. The town of Burney is small and anything you need during your stay - gas station, grocery store, restaurant, etc. - is within a couple minutes drive of the hotel.

The people at the front desk have been very nice but the floor of my room was absolutely filthy. I’m disgusted with how dirty it was. If I come back to burney I will not stay here. 100 percent would not recommend if you want a clean place to sleep.

Not impressed. The room was clean on a very surface level. There was hair on the floor in the bathroom. There was what appeared to be the same hair on the nightstand. One bed was rough, luckily, I had 2 to choose from. I appreciated the amenities, coffeemaker, mini fridge, microwave - and more TV channels than I knew what to do with. The shower was the size of a phone booth, if anyone knows what that is anymore. I was in a room with 2 queen beds, that may be a factor. Maybe the King rooms were better/different. All in all, it was ok. If I return to Burney, I can honestly say I would try another hotel.

We stayed in the King/Double/Twins suite at the back corner of the property for two nights while in the area for hiking and waterfall chasing. The room was clean upon checking in - the floors were clean, the bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean, and the kitchen was clean. The suite had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and rest during our trip in the area. Parts of the suite and some of the furniture certainly showed some age and wear and tear (e.g., a hole in the arm of a recliner, the kitchen table had a rough finish, and there were some marks and scuffs on the walls), but it wasn't that bad. The property itself was well-maintained but a little on the older side, and we felt safe there at night. It was also very quiet, especially being so close to the road! Didn't hear a thing until the morning trucks started going by. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the towels were soft and thick. The kitchen was fully stocked and the silverware and glassware were clean. Since there aren't too many choices for lodging in the area, the Green Gables offered a nice stay in a beautiful part of California. All in all, a clean, comfortable stay for our adventures in the area.

I wasn’t sure where to stay, since I hadn’t been through this area before. I was happily surprised to find a clean, comfy, roomy motel. It’s close to McArthur-Burney Falls (gorgeous), and right in the small town of Burney, and across from a charming bowling alley! I’d stay here again. The drive through Modoc National Forest is epic! It’s these little surprises that make a road trip worthwhile.

Burney is a neat small Northern California town. McArthur-Burney Falls is definitely one of the Most Beautiful Falls that I've ever seen. Also visited & hiked to all 3 McCloud Falls. Upper, Middle & Lower Falls. Middle is most impressive of the 3 but is a fairly strenuous hike down to it. You can partially see it from the top but not as impressive as down below. All well worth the visit

Wonderful place! Simple decor, but comfortable and spotlessly clean. A group of us stayed there while on a fly fishing trip in the area — some in regular rooms and some in the end unit which is a 2 BR cottage with a living room/dining area and a full-sized kitchen. We were able to save a lot of money by cooking & eating our own breakfasts in the cottage and used their outdoor grill for hamburgers one night. It’s perfect for a family or any kind of group. Highly recommended.
