The hotel itself is three star bordering on two star taking into account what we paid for the accommodation. The hotel's location was pretty good for access to nearby beaches and points of interest. The hotel had a very "tired" feel to it overall. Our room was labelled as an "executive double room" ! The bed was a king size firm, well worn, mattress which was slightly undersized in length so hung over the rear of the two single joined divans). The bathroom was the most odd, a good size with newish appliances but was just wrong! The toilet was situated in front of a low window with just a form of frosted glass to conceal occupancy, quite visible from the outside albeit from the carpark over a flat roof. Probably the biggest surprise was a victorian style bath in the middle of the room which had a shower head attachment. There was no shower curtain so to use the shower head standing up the water would just go everywhere. A walk-in shower replacement would have been a huge improvement although the bath itself did look nice, and we noticed it leaked underneath after use each time! In the room there were many corners and wall paper edges etc that need some work and the carpet did come across as "dusty" and possibly infrequently cleaned. The skylight area above the stairs down to reception was pretty disgusting with flaking paintwork and a rusty veneer all round (photo). On the plus side the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast eating area comfortable and accommodating. The breakfast, although limited in selection, was good (liked the thick meaty slices of bacon). So, in summary "you gets what you pay for" as the saying goes. We hope this helps with any decision making regarding a stay there. The pictures attached may give some idea of the above.
