Hotel Castillos de Cafayate

The location of the Hotel is unbeatable, 2 km away from the road to salta, 20 min out of cafayate. We arrived mid afternoon for a 1 night stay after a couple of days in cafayate. The room was comfy with a big window overlooking the scenery. Cows in wetland grass against the mountains gives you the feeling of a place like no other. We spend 2 hours at the pool ( towels are available at reception) and walked 10 min further down the track to Bodega, another little wine-hotel. At 6pm they offered a guided winetasting which was nice, but lost too long almost 2 hours so we lost the best hour of the day, the sundown. Anyway, upon return we asked for a bottle of wine to enjoy the view towards the mountain as kind of happy hour. Its time to point it out; The hotel does Not offer any kind of atmosphaere snd even making money by consumption caused by the staff. Either they are fed up with service or gate to work at „pampa“ but the lack of service is disgusting. I dont mind they are rude its judt they dont care and have no idea to bring the gem of hotel they are working to glitter. In my opinion they need a manager on duty who has knowledge of hospitality. For example at a place like that you welcome guest with a brief info about what to do, maybe suggestion for the dish of the day and of course a happy hour served in the georgeous lobby when the sun gets down. The area where the restaurant is set up looks like a canteen. Cheap tables are stocked with chairs which dont suit the design. The service is just order and dont bother us. No revommendations, cheese board or whatsoever to touch your palate and eyes. Another fall from the stars, the breakfast! Uninspired, boring tasteless. I mean yes there is coffee and bread & a toaster and prepacked jam…. Nothing that reflects local threats nor is it nicely decorated. Check is as check inn, no word spoken no farewell given. What a shame for a place that could turn into a diamond.

Las habitaciones son grandes con unas vistas impresionantes, el desayuno es bueno y el restaurant tiene precios accesibles y una carta variada, pero no muy grande. El punto flojo es el personal, la mayoría parecería que son nuevos, porque se confunden mucho, además que hacen muchas tareas a la vez son recepcionistas, mozos, etc.

La atención de todo el personal fue excelente, tanto en recepción, restaurant y habitaciones. Muy recomendable. Genial las indicaciones de Franca. Por mejorar la iluminación y calefacción de los ambientes comunes. Las mejores vistas a los Castillos en un lugar de ensueño
