Apartamentos Cala d'Or Playa

Stayed as a family of 3 in the first 6 nights of June in a superior apartment. Paid extra, (this is new), for a pool view and pool towels. We had the very top floor which was ok apart from the first night when we arrived to find the lift broken and had to carry luggage up 3 flights of stairs. Top floor also has no shade on the balcony so if you like that then request one lower. This was our 4th visit, having been before in 2014, 2021, and 2023. And it was not the same experience! With the departure of the lovely Rudi and no more evening buffet, what had also disappeared was any decent evening entertainment and bar service with a smile. Instead there was a kids show which we missed as eating out and when we returned they were just wrapping everything up at 10:30pm and said right kids that’s it and parents I’m sure you also want to go to bed and so off everyone dutifully went in a mass exodus. Where are the fantastic shows? The party in the pool? The BBQ night and parrot show? The lovely cocktails served til nearly midnight? The atmosphere? Oh dear, what has happened? Breakfasts were as good as usual, especially the lady who does the eggs who is lovely and will cook to order. However clearly breakfast supplies are so good we witnessed many tables taking piles of bread, eggs, and fruit and shoving them in their bags clearly for a cheap lunch. Many of the sunloungers need replacing and are not very clean, the step in the jacuzzi pool was broken, and the paddles for ping pong are worn. No money is being invested. Entertainment cut back, staff cut back. Why? Also on one night we had a meal booked at Churchills on the marina, which is excellent do go, yet reception appeared to have a broken phone and couldn’t call a taxi, although they did provide a very good shrug of the shoulders. We walked to the Cala Azul which we have also stayed in many times and got a taxi in 5 mins and a smile which was nice. Overall we enjoyed our holiday as we are fortunate to be able to eat out every night and Cala D’Or is great but this hotel has lost its sparkle for us. If you have very little ones then you may enjoy it especially if you like an early bedtime and a takeaway pizza for dinner which the hotel now provides. We will return to Cala D’Or but I think we had the best out of this hotel and so like Rudi we will also now retire!

Hotel, staff and amenities were great but just wanted to give a detailed review on the restaurant, it's recently changed from half board option to self catering or bed and breakfast so thought I would upload some photos of some of the food available, especially for those looking for somewhere to eat in the evening. The food was fantastic for every meal, we had breakfast and evening meal here everyday throughout our stay plus some meals from the snack bar. Breakfast had a large range of good quality cooked and fresh food and an omlette station. The snack bar and evening meals we had were perfect, large portions, freshly cooked and very reasonably priced considering the quality and size! We have booked to come again with the restaurant and food quality being one of the main reasons compared to other hotels we have stayed at!

came here in May half term, a family of 5. The kids had a great time in the pools and on the slides. The food was always good, even picky eaters always found something to eat. The rooms were lovely and clean and always fresh towels. We will book again.

Only back from Cala d'or playa apartments last night. Myself, my wife and our daughter had a great time. The hotel was beautiful and was well maintained. Our room was perfect and cleaned every second day, the whole complex was spotless. We would definitely stay at these apartments again. We met up with other family members in the apartments, 33 of us in total and everyone agreed about staying again. The only thing that let the apartahotel down was the food, pricy for what you get. But I would stay again for the family friendly atmosphere you get.

We stayed as a family of 4 including one 3 year old in June 2025. Would definitely recommend for families and will visit again. I have nothing negative to say about this hotel. Brilliant pool area and park perfect for little ones. We was self catering but often ate/drank in the restaurant and the food is brilliant - especially breakfast. Rooms are huge and very clean. Friendly staff. Only a 5min walk to shops, restaurants and about a 15min walk to the marina which is beautiful. Only thing to watch out for is slippy tiles around the pool, we saw a few reviews about this but we just made sure my son wore pool shoes and he didn’t slip once.

Great hotel. Would 100% stay again. Very family orientated and well equipped. The entertainment team were fantastic and really interacted with all the children. Charles was really engaged with the activities and all the children loved the floating bridge. I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone with children. Great location. Amazing activities. Beautiful beaches. Food and drink in the hotel was very reasonably priced. Not a far walk from the centre, with bars and restaurants virtually outside. Fantastic place.
