Gavimar Cala Gran Hotel and Apartments

Hotel is very clean, the all inclusive food is about the standard of a 3 star hotel. What we ate was fine, plenty of choice. We did eat out a few evenings out of choice which we planned to do anyway, but overall the food was plentiful, hot and good enough. The noise from outside the hotel woke us up early each morning. First night, a gardener cutting the trees woke us at 8am. Second night, cars using their horns around 8am, this is by no means a hotel fault! It couldn't be helped. Third night, which sounded like a cleaner using a vacuum as early as 8am? On the last day at 10.15am prior to checkout the cleaner walked into the room expecting us to be out, we were semi dressed which was slightly embarrassing! Surely cleaner shouldn't be going into the room until after the 11am checkout time? The close area to the hotel is very clean and lovely, although on a cold, cloudy day, we struggled to find something to do within the area as we had already visited the marina the previous day. I wouldn't recommend this area for children as close by there is very little else to do other than beach or swimming pool activities. If I were to stay in cala d'Or again I'd consider renting a car so we had more freedom to visit further. Overall, the hot is fab, we really couldn't complain at all for the price we paid.

If you're looking for a cheap all inclusive holiday with excellent customer service, a pool, and an amazing kids club you won't be disappointed! We booked 5 days all inclusive for 3 adults and 1 child  My parents and my son are fussy eaters but they found something to eat everyday we were there  We were near the beach which was great but other than the train/bus tour ride there wasn't a lot for my 9 year old to do nearby. The kids club (mini club) provided by the hotel was excellent and my son really enjoyed spending 2 hours there but it's only on selected days.  We visited 8-13 April 2025 and the outdoor pool was very cold but isn't a lot worse than a lot of UK leisure centre swimming pools.  You may hear a bit of noise from drunk guests or locals but my son is a light sleeper and slept through everything. The hotel is huge and a bit of a maze! The gentleman who greeted us was helpful in marking out areas on the paper map when we arrived but being shown to our rooms would have reduced stress levels a lot. We were very happy overall and would definitely recommend the place and the amazing hard working staff who are excellent 

AWFUL HOTEL!! arrived late reception check in quick - told food available but the offering was bad! no where to get a drink of any sort. Hotel room as expected basic but clean. No mini fridge or coffee tea facilities. Needs a massive overhaul but clean. Double bed was 2 camp beds together. In daylight of next and rest of holiday, hotel in need of redecoration and maintenance - one restaurant, lots of steps and the food was always awful being a seasoned AI visitor have always been able to find something but this food was just horrendous, even default chips and jacket potatoes Inedible. Seating areas outside old chairs and tables and decking that at any minute was going to collapse.2 deep pools with very limited seating pools freezing. Queuing at 10 to get the limited seating, just had to chuck a bed where there was a gap! Evenings bars in places not near main seating - pool bar and any form of entertainment around pool and limited seating. Drinks in plastic cups 1euro. All bars closed at 11. Everywhere but one small box non smoking/vaping. Lots of cheap A4 signs everywhere with things not to do. Not a relaxed atmosphere, more like a school. Snack bar was a cart near pool or a pile of sandwiches on a tray in sauna bar to toast yourself uncovered for the fly's to enjoy! WIFI in whole hotel - no not that is useable, even next to reception it hung. Didn't take kids, but the kids area was a couple of old faded slides. Kids pool was either a walk way to main deep pool or a tiny pool attached to main pool. Cleaning staff and restaurant cleaning staff worked so hard. Bar and reception staff blunt and miserable. The one positive of this hotel its location, steps away from a beautiful beach cove, easy walk to Marina, main town and other beach coves. Which I was very grateful for to spend the least amount of time needed in this hotel. On departure, no did you enjoy your stay. thankyou for staying with us etc, just "arm" so could remove the band and 10euro refund for safe - I guess they don't ask as they know or don't care. I'm always sad to leave a holiday . On this visit I was happy to be going home. Shame as Cala D'Or is beautiful the restaurants we had to visit in town great people lovely and friendly. This hotel chain needs to do better. At best this is a 1* hotel
