Hotel Canada Palace

Canada place Hotel is in a great location for an easy walk to the town or the seafront. Staff were absolutely lovely - Coped with English language in the front desk and the reception staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Some of the decor in the building is a tad old fashioned but everything is kept very clean. I saw House keepers mopping floors daily and they absolutely keep on top of everything. Balconies on the rooms that have them are kept clean and all of them are equipped with small table and chairs. Air con in the rooms we stayed in worked efficiently and the beds were comfortable. Parking in the adjacent street is free but if you want to pay for parking the hotel has a very large gated private parking space right next to the hotel. Food was buffet style loads of choice fresh daily and constantly replenished. Not poor quality and very varied. Not so vast on vegan options but easy to find plenty of vegetables etc suitable for those of us avoiding meat or dairy. Hotel bar was very typically priced for Spain ..the drinks are strong and Piña Coladas were top notch. Pool area was nice and mopped and cleaned every single day. Thank you for making our stay so easy.

Had to spend the night here due to American Airlines complete failure. Everyone here is someone stranded due to this or a screaming, poorly behaving, vulgarity yelling teen or a very loud preteen. Front desk says they have chaperones but that they do nothing. Front desk won’t either. Steer clear.

The pros were hot water with a wonderful shower head and good air conditioning. The cons were no phone in the room, well-worn towels, a dispenser in the shower which did not want to dispense soap, noise from the traffic as well as other “guests”, and inexpensive decor. The hotel was overrun with high school/college-aged people who had no supervision to keep them from running up and down the hallway during the night. Remember no phone in the room so those who wanted to sleep could complain.

After our flight was canceled, the airline put us up at this hotel, about 45 minutes from Barcelona airport. We arrived after 10:00 pm expecting that any food options would closed, but to our surprise, we were welcomed to a buffet that included a good selection of main dishes, sides, salads and desserts. The food was decent enough, especially after a long day… not fabulous but not terrible either. The hotel is quite dated and the rooms are very plain, but adequate. The hotel appears to cater to large groups. In addition to the 300 or so people from my cancelled flight, multiple busloads of 14-16 year old teenagers were also staying at the hotel. Unfortunately, they were extremely loud, yelling and screaming outside in the pool area and inside the hotel, running up and down the halls, banging on people’s doors, causing enormous disturbance to everyone well after midnight. While I generally would not hold the bad behavior of other guests against a hotel, the issue for me is that hotel management seemingly did nothing about it. These teenagers were allowed to yell and scream inside the hotel and in the pool area outside our window until they finally went to their rooms after midnight. At that point, the disturbance turned to more noise, yelling in the rooms, stomping and what sounded like moving off furniture on the floor above our room until almost 3:00 am. Neither my husband nor I got even a minute’s sleep. On the bus ride back to the airport the following morning, everyone was complaining that the teenagers kept them up all night. There is evidently very little sound insulation at this hotel, and more importantly, the disturbing behavior seemed to be tolerated by management.

Unfortunately due to a due our flight cancellation at the Barcelona airport , we were placed in this hotel. To our surprise, it was a nice location with great staff. The buffet meals were excellent and fresh. It was a lock from the beach and across the train station. I would recommend this hotel highly.
