We have just returned after a week staying at Palia Maria Eugenia with our 18 month old. Overall we had a lovely time however we would not plan to return. Pros: The hotel is really lovely, always somewhere to sit and available loungers in the day. Atmosphere in the day was really nice the animation team did a great job. Staff were great especially the restaurant team - the Lady hosting the restaurant was great and really took the time to interact with our little girl. Pools are great for kids, our daughter would have loved to be in the toddler room all day. Housekeeping team were great, rooms spotless. Cons: The rooms are really noisy, our first night we were in a room by the stairwell and could not sleep at all - unfortunately we had noisy neighbours too. Thankfully the reception team moved us to a lovely room at the end of the corridor the next day, we were lucky that it was quieter until we had noisy neighbours again on the final night. I’m quite a deep sleeper so when I read the comments on this on Tripadvisor prior to arriving I didn’t think much of it but it’s bad! Food was ok, some nights were good some not so. Fizzy drinks had some strange aftertaste. Snacks throughout the day weren’t great. Meal times were quite late and entertainment quite late starting. We chose the hotel based on the facilities/ pool for our toddler however with dinner starting at 7pm, entertainment from 9pm it didn’t really seem thought out for younger children. Other than the beach the location wasn’t amazing, we went for a walk each afternoon but there’s not much about. Although we had a lovely week we did feel it wasn’t good enough to want to go back. The staff really made it but if the sound proofing, timings and food were better it could be amazing. I would rate between 3/4* if I could!
