The Caledon Hotel and Spa

There is no room service or kitchen to order from. Check In was cumbersome - one of the hotel staff was continuously saying I have to settle the bill since they have not received the funds from Trip.com and that they will refund me once the funds have cleared - this even after Trip.com verified with the Hotel Staff Supervisor that payment was done.

As always, we choose Caledon Spa as our getaway for two, we enjoy the hot springs, the cool pool and of course the lovely walk around the grounds. I would like to see some upgrade to the rooms though, especially the bathroom, which hasnt changed in the 20 years we have been visiting there, The bathroom, although clean, is old and outdated with the shower and shower curtain in the bath. Another huge challenge is the fact that there is no halaal restaurant or eatery within in the grounds. One has to drive out into town to get KFC , which is not always what we want. I think Caledon Spa will be great if there was a Nandos onsite. Nandos my preference, but any other halaal eatery will be appreciated, seeing that there are many Muslims checking in at Caledon all the time. Breakfast buffet is always a highlight Still, my favorite place to go to for some R&R.

Have to pay top dollar but have to walk at least 1km from parking to room. Golf carts to cart linnen screw the clients Get back at 12h00 to room. Nothing done yet ito cleaning Outside garden chairs havent been cleaned in ages full of bird poo..surely a top dollar hotel will ensure the garden chair cushing placed on daily basis..but no the cleaner is sitting on its **** at the entrance staring Never again

Overall, we had a great stay at the Caledon Hotel and Spa, but there are definitely areas that need improvement. The hotel itself is mostly in good shape, but some sections—particularly around the pool—are in desperate need of TLC. With so many kids running around, the jagged edges of broken metal frames pose a real safety concern. Breakfast on Saturday was chaotic, with many items running out throughout the morning, making it feel like a free-for-all. Sunday, however, was much better, with a more organized service. The staff were mostly friendly, but unfortunately, certain services within the complex let them down—particularly at the Wonderland kids' arcade and Da Vinci’s restaurant, where service was below standard and some staff definitely did want to be there. The highlight of our stay was, of course, the hot springs. However, the experience was often dampened by some guests ignoring the rules—smoking in the pools, diving, and excessive splashing. These behaviors weren’t being enforced, which took away from what should have been a relaxing experience. With some maintenance, better service consistency, and stricter enforcement of pool rules, this could easily be a 4-star experience. As it stands, 3 stars from me.

Clean sheets and soft absorbent towels. Clean room and bathroom. Friendly staff. Hotel located in an ruralsetting with gorgeous views but with noisy geese to wake you early. There is a balcony and one chair. The bed and pillows were comfortable. There is a hot shower in the tub. Bathroom needs updating. The dead bolt to the room door did not work and reception did not show up to assess this. There are steps down to the first floor and steps up to the second. There is no elevator. There is a casino and restaurant on the property The breakfast is hot and cold buffet

We just had the pleasure of staying 1 night in this beautiful hotel. The spa is outstanding, probably the best on all of South Africa. The rooms were good and so was the food. The service was pleasant and the staff was very helpful. We were a group of 25 and they provided us with a seperate room for our meal. We also visited the casino which is an added incentive.
