Hotel Port-Bo

The Port-Bo is a basic but lovely family run hotel. Myself and wife stopped here for 2 weeks in the last week in June and first of July. What it lacks in facilities it makes up for in quality of the service. All staff from reception, cleaners and maitre- de in the breakfast room go out of their way to look after you. I found all to be friendly and helpful. My Spanish is very poor and their English is basic but we always made each other understood. There is a small but nice pool (and Jacuzzi) and although we only used it once there never seemed to be a shortage of sunbeds when we passed. Rooms (we had a standard twin ) are a reasonable size with good comfortable beds a small wardrobe, desk and TV. Bathroom has a shower over the bath and a hair dryer. The sink is small and it took a while for hot water to come through but overall good. Our room actually had a long distance view of the sea from the balcony ( didn’t pay extra for this) and I don’t think many rooms have this. So it was a surprising bonus for us. The hotel is in a good location back from the noisy centre but only 5 minutes walk to the promenade area. A highlight of our stay was the breakfast which is a large array of continental buffet fare with fresh fruits, yogurts, breads, pastries, meats, cheese and lovely savouries. Plus there is also eggs (fried, scrambled, omelette and poached) and bacon made freshly to order. The hotel has a car park ( at separate charge ) which is a big bonus in an area where parking can be difficult. Beware though that spaces are tight ( SUV parking is difficult, but some seemed to manage). Overall this a lovely hotel and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

We loved our short family stay here. A convenient location. Simple, spacious rooms with good housekeeping. A fantastic buffet breakfast with lovely staff. Towels for the pool and laundry facilities available upon request. Couldn’t ask for more.

Mixed feelings as loved this hotel Needs modernisation to reflect increasing prices and decreasing standards of accommodation. Apartment cleaning staff can be rather miserable and could be more friendly with a smile. Lovely breakfast staff and food.

Fantastic Hotel....staff excellent...rooms just superb....all staff keep this Hotel in top order....pool and spa bath just lovely....the decor of the Hotel is just exceptional,the Staff take pride in everything......we have a room with a view......lift to all floors ....lovely sitting areas......car parking available at only 8 euros a day.....the lovely centre just a 10 min walk away.....the breakfast is just something else....5 star....as much as you can eat ....again wonderful staff.....This Hotel should be a 5 star.....it’s a hidden gem......hope it stays like it......will come again.....WiFi very good.....🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗ps the gardens are so well kept and lovely lights at night

This is a good option for Calella - an easy walk into the centre. The hotel reception is real vintage retro style - like something out of the set of ‘Mad Men’. Room was spacious and immaculately clean, we had a decent size roof terrace. Shower had good water pressure too. Breakfast selection was one of the best I’ve seen in equivalent starred hotels. Fresh and excellent variety. Parking is 10 euros per day, worth doing when resort is busy.

On a presque l’impression d’être en pension de famille comme avant et ça … c’est fantastique et mérite 5 étoiles !! Merci à toute l’équipe (chambre 350 séjour du 8 au 12 septembre)
