Elba Sara Beach & Golf Resort

From the minute we arrived, we were treated wonderfully by the staff! Lydia was an absolute delight. We had our two disabled daughters with us and ended up in a bigger room feeling like royalty with a balcony to die for : ) The hotel was absolutely lovely. The food was excellent and catered for all tastes. The drinks were great too with lots of national amd international brands included in our all-inclusive package. Lots of snacks if needed too. And I must say the pudding selection was fabulous. The entertainment plan was good (not that our 2 to used it, but we saw lots of kids enjoying it from foam pool parties to karaoke and discos etc). Close by small beaches with beds and palapas to rent for the day cheaply with shallow water perfect for kids and lovely and quiet, which is where we spent half of our time. The area is not huge but a good selection of places to eat and taxis around the area are very cheap at only a few pounds each way. Great holiday fir a week and definitely a hotel I’d recommend and go back to again

Another lovely stay at the Elba Sara Hotel. Lovely staff from Roberto on reception who gave us a warm welcome to Tracy in the dining room - this lady is always so happy friendly and accomodating. Our room was perfect, overlooking the pool, gardens and sea, a balcony framed by palms and sunshine - what a way to wake up ! Beds very comfortable, pillows a bit spongy and I alway have to ask for an extra one as one is too flat, not an issue and accomodated promptly on request. The Albatros resturant has a lovely selection of food, we were AI and some things were on repeat but breakfast food is in essence limited by choice wherever one dines, the lunch and evening buffets had good choices - enough to find something to your liking. We stayed for 2 weeks and could book an Italian or Mexican meal (one per week) we went Italian on both weeks and the second week was so much better that the first, mainly due to the staff on second week being more professional. Personally I think the buffet restuarants tables are stipped down and prepped for the next meal too soon, if you go down for dinner at 8.15 the choice of tables are limited as they are being set up for breakfast, as dinner is on till 10 pm this is disappointing as I like to find a quiet table. General housekeeping in shared guest areas (bars, toilets, etc) could be tighter, the ladies loo at the back of the waterfall in the downstairs lobby could be better attended, often toilet tissue, soap and hand towels missing, having said that the 2 weeks we were there were very very busy. The El Tucan bar, a very relaxing place to get some shade, enjoy some drinks near the pool but....the pigeons ! All the food needs covering as the pigeons actually sit in and eat the salad goods, and diners should be encourage to bin what they leave as the pigeons swoop onto the tables and peck away at the left-overs. Generally all the staff are pleasant and friendly, there are always exceptions to the rule and I will not name names here but one or two could use a bit of customer care training ! Sunbeds are plenty - we were provided with a note from management not to 'reserve' beds with towels at silly O'Clock but obviously some can't read, didn't get the memo or simply just didn't care ! It was quite funny to see lots of towels getting soaked by early moring rain on our last day though ! I guess some people like to spend all week in one place (same sunbed, same table, but love to come on holiday to get away from routine!!) Balcony was large with table and reclining chairs and pull out clothes line dryer. This review is pertaining to my 3rd visit to this hotel and I have 2 more booked for early 2026 - so yes I would recommend this hotel, the little negatives are far outweighed by the many, many positives. Don't forget there is a courtesy bus to the town / shops which are a 15-20 min walk if you prefer, a taxi is about 3 euros to shops from hotel. Very nice stay in this hotel. Huge variety of good food during all dishes. The room may need a little renovation, but it was clean. Stunnig view from the balcony. There is a beach nearby with a gentle descent into the water. When it comes to disadvantages the wi-fi connetion was terrible, we had problems using the internet and the closeness to the aiport- the plane noise is loud, but you can use to it.

So near and yet so far! Can’t fault the staff who were very hard working. However, there are a few issues that management should address. The key cards were very temperamental, especially for the rear gate access, a common problem for many guests. Bathroom towel changes were a bit haphazard, we never knew what would be there when we returned to the room. Food was average on the whole, but usually there was something appetising available. Eggs availability at breakfast was very slow. Entertainment in the evenings was not up to the standard you would expect from a 4* AI hotel. 11pm finish for inclusive drinks is a bit early. Having said all that, cleanliness both inside and outside was excellent, and sunbed availability wasn’t a problem. Overall, an enjoyable stay. I would like to have given 4 blobs, but just couldn’t!

We were there for a week, a family of 4 (2 boys that are 6 and 10). We went end of August, which was great as it was quieter so more sunbeds available and less crowded. The hotel is very nice and clean, the pools are excellent. The kids one was much better than I expected and the kids spent lots of time going down the slides and having fun. It was also quite warm, which made them want to use it more. The family pool was also great, specially when the animation team did their aqua gym and foam party. It's probably the coldest pool but not terribly cold that you can't swim in it. The last pool which is the biggest one is also great and slightly warmer. I thought they were all great size. The only issue is how slippery the tiling is. We saw a girl fall and hurt herself on our first day there and my kids also slipped a few times even when just walking slowly and carefully. The buffet was excellent. There's something for everyone, but I was impressed with the quality of some stuff like the steaks and fish etc.. also they do different themes like Asian night. You also get a choice to eat once at a Mexican or Italian restaurant in the hotel. We picked the Italian and that was a quality restaurant. The food we had was sublime.. really impressed me. The staff are all friendly and great. Of course you'll get that one grumpy person but can you blame them working in a resort and with how some people behave in those places? Animation team made our holiday even better. They are always happy and making an effort with adults and kids. The activities were timed perfectly. Stuff like wine and cheese tasting, making sangria etc.. was so much fun. Foam party was an excellent experience with the kids and also I really e joyed the aqua gym. Good way to stay fit with all the food and drinks consumption for a week. I didn't use the gym but had a look and it looked great. They also have a volleyball and tennis court that anyone could use. We did and the kids loved it, it was open in the evening too so we went at night and played football there. Kids really enjoyed that. The hotel room was good. Beds were ok although we had two single beds out together times 2. So wasn't the most comfortable but good enough! Balcony was nice, spent a lot of time there sat there at night while the kids slept. There is a beach around 5 minutes walk or less from the resort that we went to twice but didn't see any showers there so it put me off from going more and I'm a beach person so that was slightly disappointing however it's there and it's a very nice clean sandy beach. The hotel isn't too far from the airport. We were with Jet2 so it took longer as they have to do drop offs and pick ups from other hotels however if you're doing it privately in think it's no more than 20 minutes? Maybe less if seemed. Miniclub review! After an great all round holiday at the Elba Sara I would just like to give a special mention to the Animation team and Miniclub who made our stay a memorable one. Our daughter loved every minute of Miniclub where she was kept entertained and busy crafting, drawing, designing t-shirts and making pizzas (delicious) a special mention must go to Paola who our daughter absolutely loved and will miss! So a big thank you from us!
