Elba Carlota Beach & Golf Resort

We stayed for 7 nights on a half board basis. We loved the holiday and would definitely return. Our room was spacious, comfortable and we had a great view too (rm ***). Each day our room was serviced, beds made, bathroom and teas maid restocked. Breakfast was very varied and we enjoyed the food and thought it was good quality. Evening meal was also varied with a wide range of themes. We enjoyed our visit to the a la carte restaurant. The restaurant staff were all very helpful and approachable. The drinks were priced reasonably and it suited us to just buy a couple a day so we didn't need AI. The bar staff were all friendly. Reception helped us a couple of times and we found the team there to be helpful, happy and nothing was too much trouble. One day I went down to ask for an extra towel and it arrived before I got back to the room! The pools areas are great, we never had an issue getting loungers and the splash pool and family pool were heated - what a treat! The daytime entertainment was amazing! Daytime pool mini-disco was a hit with our 5 year old, we also thought the water carpet was great fun. The foam party was a real memory maker moment for us as we all had a ball. The entertainment staff were encouraging but not in a pushy way. Pepe the hotel mascot was well loved by all the children! There was a good variety of evening entertainment. We mainly just went to the mini disco due to the age of our little one. The only thing I would say is sometimes the daily planner didn't have the correct info on it so we got a bit muddled but it wasn't a massive issue. The shopping centre next door has a well stocked supermarket. It includes a small deli counter where you can get fresh baguettes for €2.50, so we often did that for lunch as we were half board. There are a range of shops in the shopping centre such as sports, gifts, clothes etc. Downstairs there are a selection of cafes and bars. We ate at one and it was a good portion for a very reasonable price. There's also some kids rides etc you can pay for. I think in winter it's just open at the weekend. The nearest beach is about 3 metres away from the hotel grounds! Stunning beach with lots of fish to see and really soft sand. What a treat to be so close by. The resort of Caleta de Fuste is small in comparison to others but we really liked it! From the hotel you can walk round to the resort centre and marina via a promenade. We packed our daughter's folding scooter and it was brilliant that she could just scoot along. The marina has some bars and cafes and a range of activities such as boat trips, sea lion swimming etc. We didn’t do any major activities as our little one doesn't need to many activities yet, but we did pay €1 for some fish food and feed the fish! Bargain! We definitely want to return to Caleta de Fuste and would happily return to this hotel if they had the dates available.

We are just back from a great family holiday at this hotel. We upgraded to all inclusive when we arrived and it was so well worth it. It baffles me to read negative reviews. The room was spacious, well serviced and comfortable. The hotel had everything you needed but the pool area was the highlight of our stay. The entertainment team works so hard and kept us well entertained with all their antics, from a water carpet to water aerobics and the incredible foam party! Adults and children were having a ball! Yes the drinks are limited (choice) but there was plenty to be had and the snacks were good too. Sun loungers to be grabbed early. The weather was perfect and we literally spent all day swimming and sunbathing. The sea temp is also perfect and was so refreshing after a hot day. The restaurant team is again incredible, when people moan about the food they have probably never worked in the hospitality industry. The kitchen team and the service team were incredible. A massive buffet every day 3 times a day is a huge task. The food was varied and every day there was so much choice even for the “beige” eaters. We are lucky that our kid loves sushi, lamb and everything in between (having a chef for a dad) All in all fantastic holiday, great friendly staff and definitely a place we will go back to. Joni on reception is the kindest, loveliest man and he and his female colleague (didn’t catch her name sadly) helped us with a list of lovely local restaurants to choose from in Puerto del Rosario. We will be back that’s for sure

Assisted transport by Jet2 from the airport meant we arrived an hour before the coach Went to reception and was greeted with smiling friendly staff who organised our suitcases to be taken to our room. Room perfect overlooking the pools and a sea view. The facilities are top notch but beware the bed is on wheels so moves when you try to get off hence the mark on my back. The food was of a good standard and if you wanted something different they would always try to oblige. The position is perfect withe beach five metres from the entrance and the sea warm. One of the pools was heated to 30 degrees and plenty of sun loungers.poolbar was perfectly situated and offered a great choice of drinks and food. The entertainment was not one would expect from an 4 star hotel as they were lacking in performance. A Karaoke night would go down well because after a few drinks everybody wanted to sing. Overall I would recommend coming to this hotel and 7 of us will return next year

Pool area great, Food was quite good, great variety. Staff are helpful and polite. Room was clean and tidy and made up every day. However there was no towels available in the room. This was rectified fairly quickly. Safe deposit box did not work. There was no information given at time of check in that payment was required. However once paid the maintenance technician had to fix the safe. Fridge in room was very quiet and handy to have. Overall, I would return to the hotel.

We loved absolutely everything about this hotel, other than the aircon. The aircon was nonexistent and there wasn’t one place in the hotel with aircon. The lowest the temperature got whilst we was there was 25 degrees and that was at night! So there was literally nowhere to escape the heat unless you went to other places. It was really difficult to sleep in, the entertainment on an evening was uncomfortable to sit through due to the heat, and the restaurant was even worse due to the hot food and the volume of people. However, other than the unbearable temperatures inside the hotel, we loved it. They really cater to children which is exactly what we wanted, the pools were great (other than the water features in the baby pool as they didn’t work) and were the perfect temperature to cool down from the heat but not freeze to death so it was still enjoyable for children, my daughter barely left the pool! The jacuzzi was lovely too as this was a little warmer than the actual pool. The children’s entertainment was good and the animation team was fantastic, my daughter loved Pepe so much! The park is great but far too hot to use during the day, we went on it at night when it was a little cooler but there aren’t any lights, so would be much better with a few lights on there so you can see better. The housekeeping was hit and miss, your feet got filthy walking around the room barefoot we had to keep our flip flops on, and as my son can’t walk yet he was having to crawl around on a dirty floor so we couldn’t get him dressed until we was just about to leave or he would have got his clothes dirty. The beds are only changed twice during the weeks stay, which is fine but they did have little holes in the sheets. The towels were changed regardless of whether you put them in the bath or not, but then sometimes you’d come back to some towels not being replaced (mainly hand towels and the one for the floor) and one night we came back to none at all, so had to go to reception to request some which took about 30 mins to get delivered. All pretty minor but for a 4 star hotel you would expect a little more. The food was fabulous, really tasty and fresh, and it was quickly replaced when items had all gone. Lots of choice for children too which is great. The snack bar was a god send so we didn’t need to get the kids dried and dressed to go for lunch and the snack bar drinks were brilliant. There’s only the main bar open on a night which I think is a missed opportunity and they only do limited drinks and the queues on a night can be quite lengthy depending where the entertainment is that night. And there’s only really that bar and the terrace that you can sit on a night which is always full, so you are quite limited on what you can do on a night if you don’t want to melt in the convention centre watching the entertainment. If it wasn’t for the aircon then this review would have 5 stars, but this was a major put off for us ever returning to this hotel unfortunately.

Terrible hotel, should not be rated as a 4 star, possibly 2 star. We were given a room with a view of the dumpster. Threadbare towels and curtains. Food is plentiful but extremely poor quality
