Hotel Arena Castillo

What a fabulous week we had , our room was quite away from reception what a trek and the lift wasn't working .The room was fabulous with lovely views of the area and sea . The highlight of our holiday was Alba the entertainment officer who had us all joining in but not overbearing ,she was fabulous and had nick names for everyone ,my partner being called shelby. She is an asset to the hotel .

We booked this hotel as a quick last minute find, and wasn't disappointed. We booked a superior one bedroom apartment. The room was great, well equipped and clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The young lady doing the entertainment around the pool was brilliant, and encouraged everyone to get involved with games, quizzes and the daily bingo. The hotel itself is in a great location with plenty of bars/restaurants and shops in close proximity. We have said we would definitely return once the hotel has completely finished it's renovations.

Had an amazing stay here. All brand new. Very clean and spacious apartment with balcony overlooking the pool. Apartments cleaned daily. Cooking facilities for basic meals. Very quiet when we stayed as only just opened (but that suited us!). Close to supermarket and beach. Had an entertainment person by the pool most days but you could choose wether to participate or not. Friendly staff. We were able to use the left luggage and facilities after check out as our flight wasn't until the evening. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely wonderful apartment/ hotel. Location is central to everything. Excellent facilities at the hotel. Beautiful pool and lots of loungers with umbrellas. Apartments are well equipped and cleaned everyday. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Entertainment around the pool, aqua fit and games are a real plus. Close to supermarket and shops. I highly recommend this hotel. I felt very safe as a solo traveller. It’s close to the airport.

Had a fabulous time at Arena Castillo - new hotel and the decor was really modern and well designed. Only offered B&B but the breakfast was really good and cooked fresh each morning the staff in the restaurant Allandjro, Alexander and Lola were lovely and served us each morning- the housekeeping staff also very lovely and helpful. The location is perfect about 10 minute walk to main shopping area where there are plenty of places to eat and drink and great sports bar with entertainment at Piero’s the Rock of Ages and Soul night were excellent. Mini golf good value at €7.50 for 36 holes just on front. Transfer time 10 minutes which is great. Even staff at airport really upbeat and friendly - will definitely be booking to go back.

Hotel Manager does not even acknowledge guests too busy on phone or smoking outside very aloof Negatives Reception Staff not very welcoming other than when you check in after that you don't exist No Door Handle on sliding bathroom door Bathroom Lights on timer - Why No electric sockets in Kitchen so you take the kettle/toaster to the table which would be a safety issue if you had children sitting at table Cheap cutlery and mugs 2 electric sockets under TV off no use as you have nothing to set your items on a console table underneath would be a good idea Towels in bathroom too small and not luxury Hand Soap and Shower Gel provided are cheap and leave a horrible smell on your hands so did not use the shower gel !! Lack of drawers in bedroom - Ikea type open wardrobe not 4 Star If you have walking difficulties and require Mobility Scooter to get about they are not allowed I suppose not in keeping with the ambiance they are trying to create and even though the hotel was only half full they claimed they had no space to facilitate that even though better Hotels in the area allow them I had to hire a scooter and was only able to use it during the day between 9.30am and 6.00pm as I had to park it at the hire office overnight every night Terrace not private anyone can walk passed on route to the rooftop bar Breakfast was good but very overpriced €16 per person Late check requested evening before departure told it would not be an issue but the next morning it was not available Don't take the sunbeds to the room that's something else not allowed Better lighting required at night in the walkways to your room as it can get pretty dark Positives the cleaning team and the maintenance team very professional and friendly they always greeted you with a Hola and a smile The rooms are a good size
