Quick one night say for a late appointment at the adjacent South Health Campus. The room was beautiful and very comfortable except for cheapy, flimsy linens on the bed. I know Courtyard is not one of Marriott's top brands, but the sheets put it firmly into a low level. Otherwise the room was fine. We had dinner at the restaurant Rendesvouz which was very good. Plenty of free parking - covered and open.

I feel like I need to share what happened during my stay because of how poorly it was handled. It’s long, but I’ll try to make it concise. After a very smooth check in process, I went up to my room which turned out to be directly in front of the elevators. The hotel seemed empty so I don’t know why they gave me the worst location on the floor but I was only there for a night with a friend (who wasn’t there yet) so I thought whatever. About half an hour later, I was in my room, and heard a knock on the door. As I was reaching for the door handle to answer it, I heard the sound of keys - a staff member ALREADY HAD HIS KEYS IN THE LOCK and had manually unlocked the door before I could actually answer it! He looked shocked that there was someone in the room and confused asking me if I requested to change rooms? No, I definitely did not - completely shocked I quickly shut the door while throwing the do not disturb sign on that I regretted not putting on in the first place. I called the front desk immediately and they said they would investigate what happened. After awhile a manager called me back and asked what happened again. After I told them, the manager was very quick to say that it was a “human error” (over and over) but never actually apologized or acknowledged in any way that what happened was a MAJOR safety and privacy issue. What if I had been bumming around in the nude? In the shower? She then tried to minimize it even further by saying it was okay because it was a staff member! What?? It’s just wild to me that this was not taken more seriously. I should be able to feel safe in my room without the risk of being intruded on at any given moment. Big YIKES. I received 50% of our money back for the night but I didn’t think this was even close to making up for what happened, especially since the hotel refused to take any responsibility for violating my privacy. I understand that accidents happen, but if you get into a car accident and it’s your fault you still have to pay for the damage you caused, it doesn’t mean that it didn’t happen.

I have mixed feeling about this hotel. Pros: - it’s clean - staff is friendly - kids enjoyed the pool - rooms are big - bathrooms are big - mini fridge in room - lots of parking - central location -room on 4th floor you can only hear the music faintly at night. Cons: - beds are uncomfortable (hard and stiff) - pool area needs ventilation - restaurant changed to a night club in the evening, so there isn’t really a spot to sit down in the lobby after 8pm. Music is loud and goes until 2am. Management reached out and kindly offered bonus Bonvoy points to makeup for uncomfortable beds.

This is the most beautiful Calgary hotel and room I have ever stayed in. I am a Marriott member and I love the way I am treated. The Marriott staff continue to impress me every time I check in. I stayed in Room 719 this trip. (It’s an upgrade to the standard king room). The king bed was absolutely dreamy, fluffy pillows, senate living room and kitchen area. The heated bathroom floor is perfect after to get out of the incredible bath tub. Thank you so much Marriott….you did it again❤️

Excellent service by the front desk employee (Cesar). He was very friendly, polite, and knowledgeable about his work. The hotel is beautiful, new, and elegant. I stayed here 4 months ago too. I loved the hotel.

Booked for two nights. Room located on the 5th floor. On the first night we asked for two extra blankets for the two queen beds. After some difficulty with communication with the front desk we were advised that they would be sent up to our room shortly. The blanket did not arrive! The following evening we went to the restaurant for dinner to find that there is a cover charge of 10 dollars per person even though we were guests at the hotel. We chose to eat elsewhere. Upon our return we heard loud music which we noticed the night before ended at 10 pm. However the second night it continued until 1 am when we called down to the desk to ask when it was going to end because we were unable to sleep. We were offered ear plugs and a 20% discount and asked if we were told about the music when we checked in! We were not. On the first day we purchased a bottle of water for 5.58 cash. When we later checked our bill it had been charged again as room service. We were awarded a 25% discount for our second night stay. We were very disappointed with our experience at this hotel and it was not in keeping with the Marriott standards that we are familiar with

We booked this hotel due to its proximity to the south Calgary Health campus where I was having surgery. Parking was complimentary. It is a 3 minute walk away. We booked a one bedroom executive suite. I was disappointed with the check in process and the time it took to get to our room. When we arrived there was a lineup and only one person working. After about 10 minutes another person started working which helped but some check ins were taking an excessive amount of time. (I am a Marriott rewards member so I had tried to checkin online but wasn’t able to. I was told it was because I had not stayed there previously. ). About 20 minutes later we were checked in but were not given access to the room yet. We had to wait another 10 to 15 minutes. It was 7 pm —- and we were tired. We just wanted to get to the room but we had to sit in the lobby and wait. My impatience must have showed because eventually we were told that the carpets had been shampooed and they wanted to ensure they were dry before allowing us to our room. I’m not sure why our room wasn’t ready earlier. It’s not like we were trying to check in early. I had indicated on the app when we were arriving and it was actually after my estimated time. Finally we were given our keys. It was at least a half hour of wasted time The room was very nice — vaulted ceilings, 1.5 baths, electric window coverings, nice decor. No balcony though. There were 3 TVs which seemed a little excessive. The bar area was nice with a dishwasher, microwave, fridge, dishes and coffee maker. The shampoo etc. in the bathrooms were nice but those ridiculous little bottles weren’t even full. The coffee maker did not work. The bed was too low. The ventilation system was noisy and woke me up in the night when it cut in. We ordered food from the restaurant downstairs and my husband had breakfast in the restaurant in the morning. It was very good. Great workout room. We didn’t use the pool.
