The North Branch Inn

The North Branch Inn was a recommended place to stay for a wedding we were attending in the area. It exceeded every expectation we had! We stayed in a King Suite in the Library building and the room was beautifully decorated and the bed so comfortable. We didn’t use the soaking tub but I’m sure it’s a treat for those who do. Breakfast is included and includes a fruit course, a coffee cake of some kind, and then eggs and some sort of gourmet potatoes. You can tell the chef was trained in a French kitchen - the guy knows his stuff. Also their coffee is perfect. We didn’t get to eat at the restaurant, but we did have a nightcap at the bar and it’s so cozy and friendly, we can see why they stay busy. Love, love, love this place!

Lovely old in with a lot of charm. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable (we were in the Post Office) and the grounds were beautiful. Unfortunately they were not open for dinner the night we were there but the breakfast the following morning was delicious. We will definitely be back.

If I lived more locally would keep this place a secret so I could have it all to myself. But my home is over 3,000 miles away, so I am prepared to share. It’s under relatively new ownership but already they have established such a warm and relaxed ethos, that a three night break feels like a long holiday. Jake Eberle is one of the owners and also Head Chef, after running his own restaurant in NYC, and has brought his magical cheffing skills into the countryside, serving up the most exquisite deep fried asparagus, perfectly dressed salads, and peppered tuna cooked to perfection. His breakfasts are also out of this world - wafer thin slices of apple with toasted almonds, or slivers of pineapple with salt, cakes like you’ve never tasted and the best scrambled eggs in the world. Throw in the incredible hospitality shown by John, Carrie-Anne, Caroline, Andrew and Meng and you could forget that you’re actually a paying guest and not just a friend staying for the weekend. The rooms and communal areas are lovely - tasteful, slightly boho and not in an overdone way . And there are extensive gardens where you can lounge at leisure. Perfection.

My colleagues and I stayed at the North Branch for a few day business retreat. Could not have been more pleased with the experience. The hotel itself is as pictured. Three properties each with their own unique character. And the property out back of each is really lovely. A couple of fields with fire pits, yard games, and two lovely rivers. You have to be in the market for an old-school inn: old school, creaky floors, period pieces in every room. But absolutely charming. Really. But the staff were the stars of the show. We felt absolutely looked after every moment we were there. And the food was amazing. Chef Jake used to have a restaurant in one of the trendy bits of Brooklyn and it’s NYC’s loss. Among my colleagues are frequent diners at some of the best restaurants in the city and Chef Jake’s meals consistently elicited “wow” and “f*ck, that’s good”. Easily some of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. I don’t write many reviews, but wanted to gush about North Branch because I want them to be successful. A really special place well worth the trip.

My partner and I had the most wonderful experience recently at the North Branch Inn! The new owners were incredibly accommodating for us - they changed our dates and card on file due to some conflicts that popped up, made sure that our every need was met and expectations exceeded while on property and made us feel so welcome. We cannot wait to book our next stay back! The little touches really are what hit home for us. This quaint and cozy Inn was the perfect Upstate weekend getaway for enjoying Fall activities. The FSH group always hits it out if the park with hospitality standards. North Branch Inn was no stranger to this. The manager, Phil stepped it up a notch and made our stay incredible.
