Hôtel l'Abbaye

Hotel l’ Abbaye is a place I would love to revisit. It's conveniently located just 5 minutes away from both the city center and the beach of Calvi. The hotel staff is always smiley, kind, and helpful, ensuring a pleasant experience throughout our stay. The rooms and the entire facility are clean and nicely furnished and designed. The continental breakfast is fresh and delicious. The lovely terrace is perfect for enjoying a cocktail, and we had a fantastic time around the pool too.

What a lovely place to stay. We had such a nice welcome from the lovely staff. Everything was fantastic. Nice big room. Breakfast was fantastic. Everywhere spotless. In a good position for the marina.

My husband and I have just returned from spending a lovely week at this hotel in Calvi. We've stayed at various accommodations in Calvi (hotels and self-catering ) and L'Abbaye is right up there as one of the best. Its location is perfect, so convenient for everything in the resort and, unlike some previous reviews I've read, we didn't find road noise to be a problem. There are many plus points......the renovation of the building has been done superbly and with great taste (in our opinion ). We found all the staff to be really friendly and helpful especially Miora on Reception and Veronique at breakfast - and breakfast itself was superb. The pool area was much nicer than we expected and it was a lovely place to relax after a day walking or sightseeing. Our only criticism was that our room was too hot at night, even with the air-conditioning on , and there was no way to improve the situation other than open the balcony door ( which we did ). Our room didn't overlook the busy road so there was little traffic noise , but I can imagine that this would have been a problem if the room was at the front of the hotel. We would definitely return to L'Abbaye if we visit Calvi again.

My wife and myself have just completed a 3 night stay at Hotel L’Abbeye in Calvi as part of a 24-strong Great Railway Holidays Group. For our purposes, the property could not have been better located - 5 minute walk to the local Station and another 5 minutes to both the Port and Calvi Town. The rooms are bright with all the required amenities and we were more than happy with the buffet-style Breakfasts - supplemented by excellent service. Something even provided for our final 0530 hours departure! The property also has an attractive swimming pool area which proved most popular throughout our stay. Certainly somewhere we would gladly return to.

Firstly, this hotel is perfectly located: the train station, a supermarket, bakery and, most importantly, the seafront, beach and main shopping streets are all within a stone's throw. Plus, if you need it, there is a private and free car park. Next, the staff: really friendly, helpful and welcoming. They were complimentary about my French speaking skills which was lovely of them, and nothing was too much trouble, from supplying us with ice cubes to booking us a taxi. The rooms: very traditional and comfortable, and in-keeping with the history of the building. We paid a little extra for a roof terrace and sea view room which, if it is within your budget to do so, you have to book because it is SO worth it. The room itself was a little bijou, so having the extra space to relax outside was most welcome. Whilst the room had everything we needed, there is no escaping the lack of "mod cons": the air conditioning keeps your room at an ambient (bareable) temperature rather than cooling it down - after three super hot days, we needed to cool down - so this needs updating. Also, the room lacked a coffee machine, the TV was small and the fridge took an age to cool anything down (also, there is a notice saying it is strictly forbidden to empty the contents of the fridge and put your own things in, we ignored this, obviously!). Finally, the wifi connection was hit and miss: my partner could connect, albeit a slow service, but I couldn't connect at all. If these things things were addressed, I would not have hesitated to award a five star review rather than a four - that said, I would still book to stay here again and thoroughly recommend the hotel. As for breakfast, it is available but we opted not to partake (we used the patisserie and the supermarket to buy a range of breakfast items for a snip of the price). The pool area is small but clean and well managed. Top tips: 1. Go eat at Au Bon Amis (see separate review). 2. Catch the train to Ile De Rousse for a day out - cheap and easy travel.

Superbe hôtel sur Calvi Décoration magnifique et d une grande propreté, (++parking en face .. gratuit) excellente chambre avec une très bonne literie. Piscine splendide , avec une très bonne qualité d eau .. (Michel ) Situé à proximité du centre ville de Calvi et des plages. Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable, paisible et reposant Tous le personnel à l’ accueil et à la restauration est très attentionné, adorable ,sensible et bienveillant au bien être des résidents. Nous avons été très bien conseillés pour les parcours extérieurs et visite de la Corse également... Cette hôtel mérite ces étoiles et sa belle renommée. Merci à vous tous . Séjour inoubliable !
