We stayed at this resort expecting 5-star service, but honestly, it was a huge letdown. For the price we paid, the service, communication, and staff attitude were just not acceptable.
1. Check-in mess: They took us to the wrong villa, which was already occupied, and we had to get carted back to the lobby to sort it out.
2. Staff confusion everywhere: Staff constantly gave wrong or conflicting info about food pricing, bookings, and facilities. Just one example was the afternoon tea — advertised at a promotional price all over the resort and confirmed by reception, only for us to be told later the price had “internally changed” and pressured to pay more or the staff would be penalized. Instead of owning their mistakes, they picked fights with guests, completely killing the holiday vibe — and to top it off, the food from Alma Garden was really disappointing anyway.
3. Games room chaos: No system at all - people who showed up later got served first while others waited forever. Staff just stood around and didn’t help, which led to some very tense moments between guests.
4. La Casa bright spot: La Casa actually served some amazing food and was a real highlight. That said, on our second day they kept forgetting our breakfast order and we ended up waiting the best part of an hour for some croissants, even though the place was nearly empty.
5. AC nightmare: We couldn’t turn off the air con, which is remotely controlled by management and kept switching back on. We were freezing, called multiple times for help, and no one ever showed up.
6. Broken jacuzzi: It looked great, but the drain leaked faster than the water could heat up. We couldn’t use it at all.
7. “Complimentary” activities aren’t free: Tennis, which was advertised as complimentary, actually cost 400k an hour. Plus, it was super unclear what needed to be booked ahead of time.
8. Expensive water hassle: You’re not allowed to bring your own food or drinking water, so you have to walk a long way to the shop (which closes at 9 PM) and pay their inflated prices.
9. Awful staff behaviour: We saw buggy drivers shouting and swearing at elderly guests who were a little slow getting down the villa steps. Totally unacceptable.
10. No communication between departments: The resort is run by multiple companies who don't talk to each other. Anytime there was an issue, they just blamed the other company.
The resort looks amazing from the outside, with villas amongst beautiful, manicured gardens but inside it’s a disorganized mess that feels more like a badly-run hostel than a luxury stay. They offered us the backdoor late checkout with free drinks and biscuits, but honestly, by that point we just wanted to get out of there after two nights.
