+ Hotel is located between a small alley and local village houses. nevertheless just 5min from the Bay. + rustical and modern setting + friendly personal + clean rooms and hotel amenities + brrakfast is good + pool is clean just right snd has a good sea view - our toilett seat cover seems to be broken we did not mind as long as it is still intact could have been addressed - same breakfast menü for the whole week it was a lot to choose from but it lacked variation Noise - it can get loud during the weekend if your room is along restaurant road. - noise from balcony on the floor can get in your room i just turn the tv to divert my ears from the outside noise

Pros - Our room was ready early, which was appreciated after an early flight Large double bed, which was VERY comfortable. One of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in - Shame about the pillows! Bathroom not huge, but adequate. Shower was powerful, with lots of hot water and complimentary shampoo/shower gel Very useful double USB socket and USB sockets at each side of the bed Complimentary traditional Madeiran cookies and bottled water, which was replaced daily. Fridge in room which was great for keeping drinks cold. Room was spotlessly clean throughout our stay. 1 comfy chair in room, with a foot stool, which doubled up as a seat, not ideal for 2 guests to use. Nice rooftop terrace. Pool big enough to swim, not 25 metres, but ok for a quick swim and pool towels provided in room. Small vending machine on rooftop. Plenty of sunloungers Breakfast was good, with reasonable choice, including cereal, bread, cheese, meat, fruit and cooked items. Not all breakfast items were replenished! Cons - Room 112 overloking street and restaurants. Quite noisy, especially at the weekend, with noise until the early hours of the morning, not from the restaurants but the bars further down the street. Pillows were lumpy and not very supportive Not many drawers or hangers - exposed wardrobe which I personally don't like! No hooks in bathroom for towels. Bathrobes not provided, unlike other 4-star hotels we have stayed at in Madeira. Egg menu at breakfast with an extra charge. €6 for an omelette!! One morning the pastel de natas were very overcooked and inedible, which was such a shame. Breakfast staff made no attempt to acknowledge any guests. No proper shower facilities on the rooftop terrace, only a toilet & washbasin. Hotel does not have a proper bar, but as we were checking out I noticed a limited drinks list on reception. Not mentioned at time of check-in. Pool table in lounge area, but no details of where to get the balls from and reception wasn't always manned

Good location, in a fishing village near funchal. Step out the door to a large selection of cafe and restaurants so there is no need for a restaurant in the hotel itself. Good base from which to explore the west and north of the island, and close to funchal as well as several Good gardens. Nice inner courtyard where you can relax at the end of the day. Attractive and individual decor. Clean, friendly and helpful staff. Good power on the shower!

The hotel is right in the centre of the harbour area with ten restaurants within 100 metres of the door. Despite the buzz outside, the hotel itself is charming and peaceful. They only serve breakfast here, but that wasn't a problem. The staff were unfailingly polite and knowledgeable. Although the little rooftop pool and terrace was a bit cool in November, it would be a real bonus in the summer months. Would defo stay here again.

We stayed for a week over new year in this great location near the harbour of the former fishing village Câmara de Lobos which is about 10/15 minutes drive from Funchal. There were about 8 or 9 very nice small restaurants with 100 feet of the hotel. The hotel itself served a good breakfast selection including gluten free options, the room was comfortable and the service efficient.
