JS Ca'n Picafort

Don't let bad reviews stop you coming here. Loved it, stayed in one of the rooms nobody seems to like, was a little upset at first but as a solo traveller it was absolutely fine. Comfy bed, air con, toiletries and cleaned every day by a lovely lady called Marsa, who was brilliant. Food was good, lots of choice and different everyday. Hotel has checkout at 12 which is nice so no rushing. This is a 3 star hotel and there are better hotels nearby but not in a better location. I would not have swapped any of them for this one. Plenty of restaurants on your doorstep if needed and about 12 steps from the most beautiful beach, with crystal clear waters. All staff I encountered were fantastic! I will be coming back. great hotel , all staff are friendly and helpful , plenty of choice and variety in the dining room , great position on the front right next to the beach , evening entertainment during our stay was really good better than i expected , there for ten nights 4th may to the 14th , and looking forward to returning .

Excellent all round service from front of house to cleaning staff. Nothing is to much trouble , the waiting staff go beyond their duty to see the public have a holiday to remember. Stayed in a single, very clean an served my purpose. Shower had great water pressure. Water always hot. Food was varied in the evenings with a good choice of dishes. Breakfast was fantastic. Make sure your up early to eat on the marvellous terrace with the beach in front of you. Overall js , don’t ever change .

Good and bad things here. On arrival we were shown to what can only be described as a dungeon.. it had no daylight and a shelf for a balcony in what looked like a lift shaft. apparently this is what is called a promotional room. we refused this room and were told by very rude and abrupt reception staff that we would have to pay for another room at €25 per night.. we also refused this and then were offered another room for €15 per night which we ended up paying.. a money making racket by the hotel. pool is round the corner, but there is no bar/snack bar there.. food in the hotel is luke warm at best and as a vegetarian i struggled a couple of nights and there was only chips and salad, breakfast is ok.. good stuff now, situated practically on the beach and middle of the resort.., its clean, some of the staff are lovely, Wisdom is a very nice young man and very helpful when i questioned some food one night and Miguel in the dining room never stops.. he knew what we drank after the first couple of nights.. we wouldn't go again though after what happened with the room… first 3 photos of the view from the first room and then 3 from the room we paid extra for..,

The positives for this hotel are. It's on a beautiful location right on the beach. Lovely clean spacious foyer on entrance very smiley, pleasant helpful young man (in his 30s) dealt with my check in efficiently. He also asked if I needed help to my room as I was on crutches with a bag and case. It has a lovely area outside the front of hotel to sit and relax with a drink with fantastic views. The negatives.....Ok I'm a solo traveller and I pay a supplement and the reason being is because there is usually a double bed or 2 singles in the room. And they lose out on another guest paying and staying in the room, hence solos pay extra. But my room was tiny and only had a single bed so it was wrong to charge me a supplement as i wasn't in a double occupancy room. Yes i booked through a third party and I know they do that. Someone said if i book direct with the hotel i wouldn't have had to of paid a supplement. I looked at the hotel website they would also of charged me extra as a solo even though it only consisted of a single bed. Bedside table was just a round table with no drawers, no drawers in the wardrobe or under the desk. Toilet was dirty on the under side of the seat (not rust) photo added. Took photo and showed the receptionist and was cleaned the next day. View from my balcony was a wall and another balcony. No glass or disposable plastic one in the bathroom as there normally is. The next day I asked the man behind the bar if I could have a glass for my room please as I needed one for water to take my tablets with. He refused to let me have one so I ended up going out and buying my own. I really am not a fussy person and do not expect 5 star in a 3 star hotel but it would be nice to have half decent food to eat. It was either dry tepid or cold and not very nice at all. Just one example of this was the lady who was replenishing the food and sorting it out in the restaurant brought some slices of cooked beef out with a sauce on. As i helped myself straight away i expected it to be nice and hot, Wrong, it was cold and tough just like the other Meats and veg at other meal times. Some of the staff were nice and polite some were not. A smile goes a long way. It would be wise to take a leaf from the Js Portocolom hotel in Palma which I stayed at last year and will be returning to again later this year.

Given a room for 3 adults far to small asked for room move offered one for more money nightly. It was a very small double room for two people. They said it was a promotional room. Never heard of it and i work in hospitality. We asked for a family room they said they didnt have family rooms. But families were booked in The food was not great either. Green beans and chick peas for breakfast. We didnt find the staff that nice either. Would i go back not at all. It was a lovely location such a shame
