Zafiro Alzinar Mar Adults Only - Refurbished 2025

The hotel has just been refurbished. Awesome. We took the bait from the promotional images. Turned up and there was hardly anyone at the hotel. Got into our swim-up room and went to the pool bar for food around 11am. Immediately greeted by a woman from Oldham in a grey cardie, smoking and clearly drunk. "You're our neighbours," she said. "He's doing my head in," she said, nodding at her husband and staggering along. Great. Smoking, drunk, and noisy. We asked to move rooms but they didn’t have any other similar rooms ready. We were downgraded, and the room was just OK. No aircon — apparently, the aircon was only in the staffed areas of the dining room and the bar. We only got aircon on our last day after I complained for the third time. There appeared to be more staff than guests, and they were all clearly just waiting for us to finish dinner so they could grab their own food from the buffet. Broken leaking toilets, broken wooden footpaths, cold buffet food (we both had dodgy tummies the entire holiday), no entertainment at all apart from a coin-operated pool table — and no one had Euros or change available. One day the pool was freezing cold, the next nice and warm. Then cold again. A poor German woman tried to cajole a dozen people or so into doing yoga and water exercises to loud music (“work hard, play hard” on repeat for 30 minutes). Thunderstorms and rain for 3 days of our holiday. Got bitten six times by mossies. Nothing at all nearby the hotel, so you couldn’t even pop out locally and get nicer food. Hammering, drilling, construction work, mowing — all while we were at the pool. Honestly, it felt like it was run by staff for the benefit of staff, and that guests were an inconvenience. We hated this holiday and wasted £3k on it. Felt like a 12-day visit to a prison, to be honest. I cannot think of single positive thing to say about this hotel.

Super nice hotel, with a lot of space and friendly staff. The location is great, not as busy as Alcudia and very close to the famous Muro beach where there are many nice beach restaurants and the sea is wonderful. The food (breakfast & dinner) held a high quality and we enjoyed it. The hotel has just been renovated, very nicely done in warm colors. There is big parking at the hotel, which is really great. We can truely recommend this hotel.

Excellent holiday, excellent holiday there went last week of August, good big rooms, buffet not the biggest but everything was hot and tasty, every staff member was polite and friendly, very clean inside and out,big pool always able to get a sunbed, will definitely be back.

Wonderful hotel. We stayed all inclusive and it was worth every penny. Amazing cocktails and a good choice of food. We ate from bar menu a couple of times but I found the food luke warm for my taste. Fabulous lake style pool, very quiet, some music would be nice. Air con in our room needed updated but we coped. Most of the staff are very accommodating and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Mostly quiet hotel in a good location away from the main beach. Beach/town only a km away so easy to walk. Very handy to catch excellent public buses to many locations. Definitely a 4 star hotel (not trying to be 5 star and definitely NOT 3 star). All the hotel staff were really friendly, helpful and professional. Pool always tidy, sun beds & pool towels were plentiful. Food was generally excellent,especially the local choices. Dinner buffet is good value for money €22 pp including drinks. Especially as the restaurant prices around have really shot up. Wednesday seafood night was excellent. Entertainment was take it or leave it but it was not every night so choose to go to it if you want to. The entertainers were very good though and professional. Some nights there was too much outside noise after bar closed at 11:30, certain guests with no thoughts for others, e.g shouting and screaming or even playing ping pong at way past midnight! No proper electronic safe in Junior Suite Pool View. Our balcony had a nice pool view ( and the countryside beyond) but also had a view to the roof of the dining room which was attempting to be a roof garden but is clearly in need of some attention. The dress code for the evening buffet was clearly too hard for the staff to enforce. They did try but in the end they just gave up. Adults only (16+) is good but some young adults don’t know how to act like adults. Some adults don’t know how to behave either, of course after drinking on an all-inclusive package. It will be good to see how Zafira improves the hotel as clearly they have only just started (for example the derelict wooden gazebo behind the pool which is a bit of an eyesore.

We had a lovely stay at Zafiro Alzinar Mar. The rooms are spotlessly clean & modern. Nice mix of younger & older guests when we were there. Swimming Pool is large & lots of sunbeds, no getting up at silly o'clock to reserve them. We enjoyed the food, lots of choice at all sittings. We particularly liked the a la carte lunch in the bar. We had booked half board but upgraded to all inclusive as the food & drinks were so good. Cocktails are amazing, all freshly made, none out of a machine! The staff are so friendly. From reception welcoming you, waiting staff, bar servers, room cleaners, always a smile and a hola. This made our visit very special, thank you. Solo travellers felt very safe & generally there was a really lovely atmosphere. Hopefully we'll be back soon.
