Sutherland House Victorian Bed and Breakfast

A wonderful B&B near the Canandaigua town area. We loved learning about the history of the home. There were great outdoor seating areas where we shared a glass of wine and books/movies/games if you’re staying in. They thought of everything, even stuff you may have forgotten at home for your trip. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend!

Amazing countryside around Canandaigua and the Finger Lakes! The Sutherland House is the perfect place to explore the region from, with its fitting decoration, warm hospitality, yummy breakfast and a lot of attention to detail. They’ve thought of everything! Thank you, Sam & Maria

My husband and I love the Finger Lakes and visit there often, but it was our first visit to Lake Canandaigua. We found the Sutherland house very comfortable! It was a nice size room, very large modern bathroom, and a very comfortable bed. Offered a delicious three course breakfast every morning, with coffee, tea, soft drinks, and homemade scones available all day. It’s only a mile from the main town of Canadaigua which has a bunch of restaurants and breweries. Not a lot of wineries in the area but enough to have kept us busy. If we were in the area again, we would definitely rebook this B&B.

My friend and I had a wonderful time at Sutherland. Prior to our visit we had a few glitches and Sam and Joe ( owners ) could not have been nicer and more helpful! Nate is the chef extraordinaire and was full of suggestions that enhanced our stay . Serendipity then played a role and we met terrific other guests and are keeping in touch !! Thank you Sutherland House ! We will meet again!

My husband and I loved the Sutherland House. It is very charming and the breakfasts were phenomenal. One of the owners came out and greeted us and gave us a little history. One of the chefs also gave us ideas for our visit. We loved the breakfasts. We would not hesitate to go back again. We also loved the area.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Sutherland House Victorian B&B in Canandaigua, NY. This place is fabulous! It is an old Victorian style house that is in beautiful condition. Our room (the Rose room) had a luxurious bathroom and the room itself was so very pretty and comfortable! Not to mention everything was super clean! Available at all times, in the hallway, was a coffee station with an assortment of hot beverages and house-made cookies. The cookies were so delicious that I could have eaten the whole batch! There was also a mini fridge that had cold cans of pop. In our room was an assortment of snacks (chips, granola bars, hard candy, etc.). After sleeping in the most comfortable bed ever, we got up in the morning for the three-course gourmet breakfast. It was prepared by the B&B’s private chef and everything was so scrumptious. It was served on beautiful china with real silverware and linen. The chef was very personable and friendly and he had a wealth of knowledge of interesting things to do and see in the area. By the time our stay was up I was so spoiled that I didn’t want to leave. I would definitely recommend this place to stay if you are in the area – you won’t regret it!
