Le Cœur de la Bastide - Adult Only

I can't say enough good things about the property. I wish we had time to stay longer. The communication with Virginie, the owner, was great from the very beginning. The location is amazing: a few steps from a busy square and the shopping area and just a quick and easy 20 minutes to the château and the old city. We had dinner in the old city and walked back to the house with no problems. It was a pleasant walk and felt very safe. The room was large, well lit and amazingly clean. Virginie and her husband have a lot of taste and thought of every little detail: from the lights, to the hooks in the bathroom, to the electric outlets, the mirrors, the shower and even a bidet. Everything is white and squeaky clean. There wasn't a speck of dust anywhere, from the baseboards to the fixtures of the lights. Breakfast is served in a separate room of the house. It is nicely decorated with sewing crafts handmade by Virginie and it all can be purchased. She's a very talented woman. She serves for breakfast fresh croissants, fresh bread, homemade jams, cheeses, meat, yoghurt, cereals and granola. She also has fresh juice, along with a selection of teas, and coffees. She also offered to make us eggs. Parking was not an issue. We dropped our bags and then got lucky with a spot across from the house. Parking is free from 18:00 h to 9:00 h and it's quite cheap during the day. The parking lot is about 2 blocks away at the end of the street. The 4 rooms are on the second floor so bare that in mind for the luggage. Virginie did offer to help carry the luggage. We had room 1 and absolutely loved it! I highly recommend this place and we look forward to coming back Thank you Virginie for your hospitality in your wonderful home.

An absolute gem! I didn’t want to go out sightseeing as I wanted to stay in an enjoy my gorgeous room! Every detail has been completed to perfection. Immaculately presented with a romantic feel. Breakfast was superb. I understand the property itself is still a work in progress, with a swimming pool to come in the next few years, so I will certainly be back! The owners should be so proud of their property. Located in the ‘downtown’ area close to shops and restaurants. A leisurely 20 min walk to the walled old town.

After walking from the train station (7-10 minutes) in blistering heat our partners, using Google maps, couldn’t find the property. There were no OBVIOUS signs, however, neither had looked at the address properly until asked to. There was a door number on the booking confirmation!!! As said in a previous review, please don’t judge the area as we did initially. Never judge a book by its cover, as we found out. The huge property is hidden behind two large doors. You walk in to a cool, covered archway that shouts history immediately. The hosts were so friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. There were only 2 rooms available - which was all that we required. They were cool (yippee!), clean and luxurious. The owners/hosts are continuing to renovate further rooms and also, the sun trap of a garden. (With the prospect of a small swimming pool). They’re hoping to keep as many of the historical features as they can in the shared areas. Breakfast was basic but good. We had no complaints at all. When we ventured out later, we found the area had come alive and we were only a two minute walk from a square filled with bars, restaurants, a chemist and supermarket. Oh, and obviously, the obligatory Irish Bar. This B&B was so much more than we expected and a perfect place to explore Carcassone’s history from. If a lot of you stay here, hopefully, you will have contributed to speeding up the renovations and we will be able to return and see the owners vision turned into reality.

Abbiamo soggiornato una notte in questa struttura che si trova nella parte bassa della città di Carcassone. Non dispone di parcheggio, ma a 5 minuti a piedi è disponibile un parcheggio pubblico. La struttura fuori non è curatissima, ma la camera era molto carina, nuova, arredata con gusto e spaziosa. La camera era dotata di aria condizionata, specchio grande, bollitore, e la proprietaria ci ha fatto trovare dell'acqua al nostro arrivo. Frigobar non presente. Il bagno era grande, pulito, con vasca e doccia enorme. La colazione viene servita in una stanza adiacente, ma staccata dal corpo centrale dove si trovano le camere, ed era buona. La colazione è a buffet e la bevanda viene preparata dalla proprietaria. Ci sono prodotti salati e dolci (croissant, pane, marmellate). Ottima la centrifuga di frutta homemade. Non è presente l'ascensore. Buona qualità prezzo.

casa di poche camere, credo 4. Ben tenute e arredate. al secondo piano, senza ascensore. Tutto molto tranquinno. nessun rumore. Aria condizionata perfetta, senza rumore. Signora gentilissima e disponibile. Colazione ottima . Fa anche dei lavoretti interessanti, con la stoffa.

Un petit nid chaleureux et élégant . Accueil personnalisé. Possibilité de stationnement dans un garage en face de l’hébergement. Grande chambre et grande salle de bains avec sauna privatif. Hôtel particulier charmant avec un jardin pour prendre le petit déjeuner. La maîtresse de maison nous a proposé d’utiliser le frigo pour déposer nos boissons 🙏
