Four Seasons Hotel, Carlingford

I had to ask to be move rooms 3 times due to the dirt of the rooms. 1st room I jumped on the bed and all dust fell off the headboard onto my face, dust also on light fittings, pic frames, phone. The bathroom was absolutely vile - orange body fat and black mould on the shower, tiles and grout, sink had a rim of scum around the plug hole and the overflow hole in the sink full of black dirt/mould. 2nd Room - wasnt as dusty but the bathroom was worse than above 3rd room - lil bit Dusty, shower was cleaner than the other 2 bathrooms but the sink was still manky dirty. at that stage i was so tired and needed a shower( wore my flip flops in the shower) i took the room. The swimming pool and changing rooms could do with a deep clean also and the floor in the sauna was black. The 3 stars are for all the staff i came in contact with, every single 1 of them was so lovely and helpful. EXCEPT the general manager I met was very patronising and spoke down to me. Until I told him the below. I studied hotel management in college, worked in many hotels. I stayed in some of the I now own a cleaning company for the past 10 years, we specialise is gym cleaning. I know what I'm talking about here. For a four star hotel I would expect every single room to be immaculate. This is why I pay to stay in nice hotels so I'm in a clean space. Very disappointed and I will never go back.

Recently had a really enjoyable stay at the excellent Four Seasons Hotel, Carlingford. Everything about this hotel was excellent, from the food and accommodation to the staff and service. We stayed in one of the family rooms, which was well appointed and spotlessly clean. During our two night stay, we ate in the bar on both evenings. The food was fantastic, particularly the prawn starter. The breakfast was also lovely, with a wide selection of hot and cold foods. We also availed of the fabulous leisure facilities. Many thanks to James, Mark and all the staff who looked after us so well. Highly recommend this hotel and we'll definitely be back.

The hotel is in a great location within a short walking distance of all the local amenities. Our room and bathroom was beautiful with lots of wardrobe space and big comfortable beds. Great leisure centre too. The food in the restaurant was great, but a bit overpriced.
