Woodford Dolmen Hotel Carlow

My husband and I were with a just go coach tour...I must say the grounds are amazing, Our room was very spacious plenty of tea coffee,beds were so so so comfortable, enjoyed our dinner and breakfast the next morning was lovely..... I must say my only criticism would be the drinks are very pricey indeed...

We visited the Woodford Dolmen September 2024. Couple with a 3 year old and 1 year old. We have 4 areas we always look at and everyone of them were perfect. Staff: Definitely the nicest team we ever had looking after us. Every single staff members were superstars. From reception to housekeeping to maintenance. This is unusual as there is always one or two not so friendly. Well done Management. Cleanliness: Spotless through out the hotel. You can see people cleaning all the time. When the bar area was quiet before lunch the bar staff were out cleaning table legs etc. Rooms Spotless. Public areas slightly dated in some spots but still very very clean. Room: Modern, clean, great beds, perfect temperature and a homely feel. Food: Breakfast was perfect for us. Not a huge selection. We like this as what was there was top notch. Some hotels have hundreds of items and then not looked after. This was smaller selection but the selections were great. Overall: if we could give more than 5 stars we would. Expectations should be clean, friendly, comfortable, good value and great food.

Room is fab Bed is so comfortable Food was amazing and service was excellent Highly recommend staying here Staff are so helpful and friendly Breakfast had lots of choices for everyone’s diet Staff were very attentive to make sure we had everything we needed Wifi was also excellent in all areas of the hotel

The room was absolutely gorgeous and the bed very comfortable, the hotel it's self and absolutely gorgeous plus the staff are very friendly and the food is absolutely beautiful, it's a very beautiful country hotel set on very beautiful grounds and has a vert beautiful walk way bridge across the river barrow.

Very positive experience overall.Less than 1 hour from Tallaght.We were fortunate to get a well priced online deal.Only one thing that puzzled me was floodlight outside room101 and another over carpark which seemed never to be turned off.Hope to save few bob from our pensions to get there again.Thank you.

The staff were lovely; the room was a good size and very clean; the bed was very comfortable; breakfast was great; I loved that I had a bath and beautiful view of the garden. The gift of chocolates and tea in the room were icing on the cake . My only complaint was that the room was a bit too warm but that is a great complaint to have in chilly Ireland.

Lovely hotel with fabulous staff, we had a wonderful visit and would love to stay again. Food was lovely for every meal

Great location, lovely setting, food tasty. This hotel has the most beautiful location next to the river and forest. Great potential for a spa hotel, just needs some investment.
