Spent 2 nights at the R&C whilst visiting a local heritage railway. Staff at the hotel were most helpful dealing with my queries prior to my stay. They arranged a suitable room for me for my medical needs. The hotel is spotlessly clean throughout, including the toilets. My room, on the first floor, was well appointed for what might be classified as a "pub with rooms". The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Food on both the evenings was delicious and plentiful, although it should be noted that the resident's breakfast is offered from 7:30 a.m. but is a restricted menu - which is ample and very tasty being cooked fresh for you. ALL the staff encountered were very pleasant and welcoming. I would certainly use this hotel again if I visited the area in the future and can thoroughly recommend it.

We were out shopping and stopped off for lunch. My wife had ham, egg and chips, I went for the "smaller" fish and chips which was plenty big enough. The batter was crisp, the fish nicely cooked and the chips were exactly how I like them. I was allowed a piece of ham which was very tasty. A very stodgy and perfect sponge pudding and custard followed. 10/10 for the food, 11/10 for the excellent and very friendly staff.

I stayed here alone for 5 nights in December whilst I was working locally. I booked online when it appeared that I would have to shift rooms: the staff ensured that I had the same double room for the week. I ate a different meal every night: the dinner and breakfast were prompt and excellent. The staff were always friendly and helpful. If you do have a car, whilst you will need to be careful about parking at the public car park two minutes away or in the roadside parking opposite, I found it was little trouble at all even with substantial luggage. Whilst I do point out that the wi-fi arrangement was basic and adequate, I heartily recommend this place and will choose to stay again as work requires.

Stopped at the Rose & Crown with a group of 30 on a day trip, staff were very accommodating, helpful and welcoming. Food was excellent, including many good comments about the Moby Dick fish & chips! Would definitely recommend, an our group will be coming back. Thank you all at the Roe & Crown.

Our room was comfy, very clean and wonderfully equipped for such a small hotel with everything we could need in our room. The staff were so helpful and the restaurant was excellent. We are looking forward to returning on the next visit to our son.

well, it's like in the advert: nice place, good food and confortable mattress! motivated smiling staff and all that for reasonable price: no see view at Carmarthen, but not far from Kidwelly , Manorbier and superbe Pembroke -if you're Castle-Fan like us; and so romantic Tenby is dearer! so, " Rose and Crown"! What else?

From the moment we walked in we were welcomed by efficient friendly staff. lovely room. Excellent clean standard with all facilities. Superb breakfast. I doubt if this could be bettered-well done all. I thoroughly recommend this lovely pub hotel and would stay again whenever I am in Wales. A credit to good management.

Clean, fresh and comfortable room. Powerful shower and really comfortable bed. Nice and quiet in the room and lovely food available. Staff couldn’t be more helpful and accommodating during our stay. The only minor issue for us as smokers was having to walk through busy bar to go outside for cigarettes- no private smoking area for hotel guests but not a major issue and didn’t affect stay. Would happily stay again. Excellent value for money!!

Visited this busy pub for the first time for one night. Parking was easy just a short walk away. Lots of Christmas parties meant the venue was packed out .We were situated on the first floor in room 1, looking out onto the main road and the noise levels were not a problem. I wouldn’t class this as a hotel, more a good pub, with overnight accommodation. The rooms are well presented, although I would probably remove the air freshener on the staircase, which smelt like a toilet Our TV wasn’t working and had we been staying for more than one night we would have asked for this to be rectified . We had to turn off the heating, as it was oppressively hot and we couldn’t open the windows. Again we didn’t comment to the team because they were coping with a busy bar, we hadn’t seen this many people since pre COVID days. It’s nice to see a business thriving. Breakfast was good and plentiful. We would happily stay again.
