Domaine de Campagnac - Spa & Sauna

A magical place that does not disappoint. Treehouses are spotlessly clean with chic touches, stylish plates and kitchen equipment, unique wooden basins. So much thought has gone into the style of this place that it delivers even more wow than its website photos (a bean to cup espresso machine WITH ample beans provided!?. That is a true first.) Plus there are three swimming pools. I urge you to stay here. But I also offer our hosts (who very kindly attended to our many questions) some constructive comments that will elevate Domaine de Campagnac beyond a "lovely place in the Dordogne" to possible award winning status. I offer these comments as a travel industry professional who looks for the detail of difference that makes a place superb. HEALTH AND SAFETY - the wooden crates attached to the walls to accommodate decorative items are extremely dangerous. Sharp edges at eye height (kids) or possible to take a chunk out of your head if you bend over and catch one. Likewise the exposed wires on the hotplate plug are a fire hazard (wooden treehouse?). CLARITY OF DESCRIPTION - there is a disconnect between the descriptions of the two single beds in the mobile website (phone) and the computer website (laptop). Only the phone version uses the words "cabin beds" more suited to small children. On the computer website they are described as "single beds". The door in the photo I mistook for a door to a separate room containing these two beds. My mistake but clarity and consistency across platforms would be a great help to guests. RAIN COVERS - we arrived after a bad storm. The soft furnishings to the sun-loungers (not water repellant) and egg chairs were soaked through. We were unable to use them in our three day stay as they were sodden wet. That's an easy fix. In these times of climate change no-one can trust the weather. GUEST ADVICE - instructions for use of appliances (coffee machine/hob) would be a great help and is standard in other places both for ease and avoidance of misuse. Likewise some way to inform guests of conditions in the Dordogne (perhaps a note printed at reception?). We chance encountered some locals who had been sent a phone alert about E. Coli warnings - do not swim - on one day. This again is a service frequently offered in the UK at coastal or river settings to guests. Domaine de Campagnac is faultless on style and attention to detail in the furnishings (superb bed), location (privacy with bamboo screens and careful setting). We loved it. I really hope these comments will both give a "heads up" to future guests (because you really must stay here) and offer our lovely hosts some opportunity to go above and beyond the holidaymakers dream they are creating.

Wow. What an amazing retreat. Absolutely stunning, unique “tree houses” backed by fabulous hosts in a really lovely area with great restaurants and activities close by. We booked two of the tree houses; three teenage girls in one and parents in another. Both tree houses were spotlessly clean and beautifully designed with every amenity you could wish for, even fresh bean to cup coffee machines. Really important to note that Michel & Annette have only owned the property for the last 18 months so please disregard any less than perfect reviews from before that time. We are very possibly one of the fussiest families around when paying good dollar for holiday accommodation but all of us LOVED staying here and would not hesitate to highly, highly recommend it. Great big glowing 5 stars and would be 6 if we could !

Lieu au calme, très bien équipé avec piscine, jacuzzi ... idéal pour un moment de détente, on a réservé le dîner et le petit-déjeuner copieux et très bons

Nous avons offert ce séjour en cadeau de mariage,les amoureux étaient enchantés,ils ont eu un super accueil de Michel et Annette,ils ont trouvé le lieu très propre ,le lit confortable, le repas du soir et petit déjeuner excellent,le jaccuzi au top.....je suis ravie d'avoir fait ce cadeau et j irai un jour😊merci pour tout 😊
