Uplands Inn Cartmel

Heading home after a weekend in the lakes. But the sun was out. We stuck a pin in the online map looking for a pub with a beer garden and found Uplands Inn. We got so much more than a beer garden. The landlord was really friendly, the place was immaculate, the beer was good and now I want to come back and try the hotel!

Fabulous stay at Uplands. We were greeted by Denise and shown to our room ‘Kent’. It was a beautifully warm room fully equipped with everything we needed for our 2 day stay including a massive comfortable bed with super soft bedding. After unpacking and freshening up we spent the evening in the restaurant and bar with the most amazing warm and friendly Allan & Sue, the hotel’s proprietors. We chose to stay onsite for evening meals as Sue is a fabulous chef and offered plenty of variety at a very reasonable cost. I loved the spicy carbonara and the homemade onion rings were fabulous. Breakfast service was great, pre ordered the night before and you select the time you’d like to eat so you can ensure everything is fresh off the grill. Uplands has the most amazing views and is about a mile from the Cartmel centre & Grange on Sands with all its beautiful boutique shops both worth a visit. Did we love it? yes we did. Will we be back? 100% we’ll be returning next year. You feel all your stresses lifting as you reach the Lake District and with Allan & Sue you know 100% you’ll be well looked after. Looking forward to planning our next visit already

We had a lovely stay. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. Great food and beautiful scenery! Nice, clean rooms. Fabulous hosts and staff who went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our time there. Would definitely recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful stay all round. The Uplands Inn is a gorgeous place in the most beautiful setting. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful and being dog friendly without restrictions is wonderful. I should also mention that the eggs florentine are not to be missed!!

What a lovely setting Uplands Hotel is l can’t fault that,what l can fault is our Sunday lunch was served on a cold plate ,with very overcooked vegetables and swimming in tasteless greasy gravy,although the meat was tender.The room had no heating on and l was so glad l wore warm clothes.

Thank you, Dylan and family, for a fabulous relaxing stay. Besides the amazing views, it's the great hosts that make this place so special. The food was excellent, too. The room was nice and big with a comfy bed and views across to Morecambe Bay.
