Villa Welwitshia

Truly baffled by the reviews on here....?! This place is not 'boutique' by any shape of the imagination. Its a very basic premises on the top of a hill above the town. Our room had a shower with dirty grout, a broken patio door and a TV that didnt work. Raised them with reception but nothing done. Infact the broken patio door report was answered with 'its not a problem'. We travel a lot and we were so disappointed especially after reading the reviews. The many that have one word comments such as 'fabulous' and 'excellent' are very dubious to me. Such was our disappointment that we left the very next morning, during a 3 night stay and obviously lost £200 we had paid for the remaining 2 nights. On leaving I said to reception that we were leaving early due to issues and the reply was 'okay bye'. If you have very low expectations, then this place is for you.

We visited the Villa for 5 nights for Birthday / Anniversary and from the moment we arrived, we were welcomed and made to feel at home. The place is immaculately looked after, with clean and well maintained pool and outside areas. The room was spacious with nice seating area, handy fridge, air conditioning and very spacious bathroom. Our bed was 2 singles pushed together, but it wasn't really an issue for us. The breakfast was lovely with a variety of fresh pastries, yoghurts, toasts and jams and fried eggs / scrambled eggs made on request - nothing was too much trouble and Isobel and her team are right on the ball with everything, even getting me a piece of cake and singing happy birthday to me at the breakfast table! Isobel gave lots of good advice around best places to visit, restaurants and things suited for our visit, which was very helpful and welcomed. There are many, many bars and restaurants and the beach within a 5 minute walk and, unless you cannot manage the hill, are ideally suited to get to and back after a meal / drink or visiting the beach. The local restaurant across the road is beautiful and the fresh fish tasted great. The swimming pool was cold, which was nice and refreshing and very welcome to cool off in, also very clean inside and around it. All in all we would recommend the Villa for families, couples, even single persons which there were plenty of all types staying while we were there. The staff are great, food lovely and location perfect, meaning you will almost certainly have a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We cannot wait to return, say hi to Isobel and eat in some of the many restaurants that we didn't get chance to on this visit = 5 *

One of the best value hotels. Nice big rooms. Cleaned daily. Breakfast is adequate for the price paid for the hotel. The man at reception is lovely. Other staff all friendly too. The pool area is nice. Plenty of sunbeds. Plenty of parking if you have a car. The location of the hotel is very good, less than 5 minutes walk into the centre where there are plant of good bars and restaurents. Close to Carvoeiro beach also (busy beach). Can get ubers to quieter beaches for cheap. Its hard to critisise anything for the price of the hotel. For the money paid it's very good value. Some small things that could be better... - staff start cleaning and hoovering way too early ie: 8am and have very little concept of notice. - breakfast maybe could be better but for the price of the hotel it's good enough. - maybe put some chilled music on low around the pool so it's not silent. - The car parks a bit ugly to look at from the pool but that's being picky and would be expensive for the hotel to fix.

We stayed at Villa Well for two weeks (last week in June - first week in July) and it was an abolsute pleasure. This is a small family owned boutique hotel, where you are suberly looked after. Virgilio and Isabe are fantastic hosts - never over bearing, always giving you space but equally, anything you need is immediately supplied. The rooms are very big with everything you'd expect. The hotel position is perfect for the village centre of Carvoeiro...We've stayed at various places in Carvoerio and Villa Well is by far the best value for money we've stayed at....We'll definitely be back

Lovely hosts Isabel has been great.Really helpful. Nice rooms in a quiet location. The breakfast is continental with a choice of eggs as welll. Family room spacious and rooms very clean. Will return again. Note a lovely restaurant opposite as well with great terrace for kids.

Hôtel agréable bien situé à 500m de la plage.. Nombreux restaurants aux alentours Belle grande piscine au calme Chambre et salle de bain de bonne taille Petit déjeuner copieux. Bon accueil Tarif pas donné cependant, mais c'est l'algarve.
