Cashel Palace Hotel

Four of us had a one night stay recently at The Cashel Palace Hotel; it was the stuff of superlatives! From the moment we stepped inside, we had the warmest and loveliest welcome – and from there it was a journey of discovery inside this most wonderful place! Special thanks to the wonderful Julie at the Concierge desk for her effortless charm and beatific smile to the unfailingly polite Anna who handled my multiple email requests about a lunch reservation at Mikey Ryans with such grace and kindness; also a special shout out to Jamie for his helpfulness and humour in offering to take care of our luggage. Cashel Palace makes your spirits soar and your heart fill with joy (not to mention our waistlines ever so slightly broadening from the cuisine!) – we can’t wait to go back and experience, for me, the epitome of Irish Hospitality at its best. We’d a fabulous visit to The Rock of Cashel too with a terrific tour guide – and the sun was shining! We were blessed! Happy, happy days! Wonderful, wonderful place – thank you to all concerned for a magical stay!

I visited Cashel palace hotel on Monday and had the most relaxing spa treatment with the most delightful and professional lady Alanah. Would highly recommend a trip there. Most beautiful hotel and surroundings. And friendly and helpful staff.

Four of us recently stayed at the Cashel Palace hotel, it was truly an exceptional experience. The restoration of this magnificent property is elegant and creates an intimate atmosphere that was warm and friendly. Even though the hotel was full it never felt crowded, we felt we had the spa to ourselves! The food was excellent at Mikey Ryans and breakfast was beautiful with great table service. Specially made cocktails by David at the cocktail bar also added to our enjoyment. All the staff we encountered were so helpful and very genuine with a special mention for Karen in management who ensured our stay was extra memorable. The beds and rooms are clean and beautifully presented. It is exceptionally quiet as it is a small hotel. The gardens are fantastic and a private pathway leading to the Rock of Cashel is such a special amenity. The location could not be better situated in the heart of the town. Having completed stays in other notable irish hotels, The Cashel Palace is definitely Irelands best kept 5 star secret. Overall a magical stay, thank you.

We attended the Tipperary Food Producers Long Table Event in the Palace on Saturday night. Congratulations to Adrian and his team who did an amazing job. Nothing was left to chance. From the drinks and canapes on the terrace to the banquet itself, everything was excellent. Little touches like Beef Tea served in Cafetieres to vegetables in Kilner Jars. Well done to Pat Whelan on an excellent choice of venue and indeed some fine Tipperary beef.

Disappointing Service at a 5-Star Resort We were really surprised at the level of service here for what is positioned as a 5-star resort. I would give the service 3/10. We carefully researched luxury hotels for our Irish mini-moon and were very excited to book a superior room for two nights. At the time of booking (and again when the hotel called to confirm) we mentioned that this was our honeymoon — just two days after our wedding. Upon arrival, however, no one seemed aware, and even after mentioning it again, there was never any recognition or thoughtful gesture throughout our entire stay. Not even a pastry, a drink, or a heartfelt congratulations. For a 5-star property, that felt very underwhelming. Across the hotel — from the front door to the bar to the front desk — the service consistently felt disengaged. Staff seemed rushed and interactions were transactional, as though guests were a nuisance rather than welcomed. On more than one occasion, we (and others) had to search for bar staff just to be served a drink, and when we did find someone, they seemed overwhelmed. Perhaps this is down to understaffing, but either way, the experience fell far below expectations. What makes this even more disappointing is seeing the contrast between paying guests and influencers. Social media is filled with posts of lavish welcomes (chocolates, prosecco, personalized touches) yet as full-paying guests spending over €600 per night, we felt overlooked. That said, I do want to highlight the Bishop’s Buttery team, who were the shining light of our stay. They were knowledgeable, warm, and welcoming — even congratulating us on our honeymoon and offering a small extra dessert. That simple, thoughtful gesture meant so much and showed the level of service we had hoped for across the entire hotel. We had intended to share this feedback upon check-out, but we were never even asked how our stay was. Once again, it felt as though the priority was getting us out the door as quickly as possible rather than genuinely caring about our experience. It’s unfortunate that such a beautifully restored property with so much potential is let down by service issues. For the price point, we won’t be returning or recommending Cashel Palace, and will instead give our custom to the many Irish establishments that truly know how to make guests feel warmly welcomed.

Stayed here for 4 nights with my 80 year old aunt on a Round Trip through Ireland. All in all a great facility. A lovely right beneath the Rock of Cashel. The entry is astonishing, the Lounge is exceptional. All in All a magnificent first impression. The rooms however are very new and clean but lacking atmosphere. Staff varies, from very welcoming and warm to stiff and rigid. Also made the experience that some guests were a bit more important. Been in several 5 Star Hotels before, some more casual some less, but what is not acceptable that there is no Food served in the GuinessBar and that there were 2 Times no avaibilities in "Mike Ryans Bar". Hotel Guests should have at least 2 Options to dine in 5* Hotel.
