Le Pommier

A wonderful hotel with helpful and friendly staff We loved this hotel by far and away exceeded our expectations nice location. Breakfast choices were overwhelming … very spoilt for choice Wracking our brains to find fault …. And failing GO VISIT AND STAY

We stayed at Le Pommier for five nights for our sons wedding. We could not fault it.. food and service was exceptional for the wedding (over 80 guests) and dinner. The Manager was totally hands on with his team to make the day special and our stay. We would certainly stay again and highly recommend as a hotel and as a wedding venue. The Manager and the staff... including the highly talented chef were brilliant. Thank you. For summer I would suggest sunloungers for hotel guests to relax and enjoy the sun by the pool. The hotel was beautifully presented and dressed for the wedding and had plenty of parking. Added bonus a fifteen minute stroll from the beautiful Cobo Bay beach.

This is a friendly hotel, it is very clean and tidy and we found the cooked breakfast and evening meals to be excellent. The hotel is situated near Cobo Bay which has several restaurants and cafe's that are worth a visit. There are also lovely sandy beaches at L'Ancresse which is a short drive from the hotel, The hotel proved to be a very good choice for our holiday.

We only called in for lunch so cannot comment on rooms etc. The lunch was well prepared with excellent service, and the grounds are pleasant to sit in. Price was reasonable. The hotel is amongst a lot of houses which spoils the arrival experience a lttle.

went for Sunday Lunch and had a dip in the pool. Very nice traditional Sunday lunch and dip in the pool. Service was great Staff lovely couldn't do enough for us. Pool warm and the surroundings were fantastic. Would certainly do it again and recommend.

Spent four nights in this well-appointed Hotel. The staff throughout were pleasant and eager to help. Two items which needed to be addressed in our room were attended to promptly and did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay. The dining room offered a wide range of foodstuffs and service was prompt and the quality very good. Plates of snack food could also be brought to the poolside during the daytime. There appeared to be adequate parking, although we travelled by air and then used the reliable bus as well as taxi services. Two or three bus routes could be accessed by stops within a few minutes walk. You wait by the word, BUS, which is marked on the road surface. On the few larger roadways a sign and shelter may be present. Groceries, restaurants, pubs and the nearest beach/bay are about twelve minutes walk. A twenty-five minute bus journey will get you into St. Peter Port, which is the main shopping area. From here bus passes may be purchased from the bus shop, this being the only place from where multiple use tickets may be bought. Single journeys [of any length] may be purchased on the bus for £1.50 but no cash is accepted. Also from the main seafront, passenger ferry tickets to other destinations may be purchased. We spent a whole day on Herm, which was magnificent, no cars. Dogs are banned from most beaches and appear to be on leads in many other areas, which for many visitors is another plus point. The sands still remain golden!

A very welcoming stay at Le Pommier. Very friendly and helpful staff. Exceptionally clean hotel with a very nice swimming pool area. Breakfast is first class with a good variety. Stayed in room 42 which was very spacious and had a small garden area. Possibly could do with a storage box for garden seat cushions for when it rains. Had not so good weather so cushions were absolutely soaked when wanting to sit out. A lovely peaceful spot with very reasonable priced buses running from close to hotel to Cobo Bay or St Peter Port. Walk to Cobo also doable (15 minutes max).

Overall a very good experience. The purpose of my stay (2 nights) was as a base to visit friends. My wife and I worked at the Hougue Du Pommier in 1969 for the summer season and so chose the hotel for nostalgic reasons. I was the chef/manager there for that summer and my memories of the place were mainly restricted to the kitchen and the bar and the changes that have been made to the structure of the building made for interesting conversations as my wife (she was a waitress/chambermaid), had better recollections than I did. It was sad to see the demise of the Pitch and Putt although we can quite understand why it is no longer there.

The hotel itself is in a very quiet, peaceful location, which has a regular bus service running to. We took our car, but realised on the trip from the port to the hotel we didn't need & didn't use the whole week we were there. The GM, Garin, is & was always available, he made us welcome as soon as we arrived, a hands on manager (even cuts the grass on the front lawn). That attitude obviously was evident in his staff, they were all excellent, nothing was too much effort or bother. The rooms were clean and comfortable, our room was basic but just what we needed, a very comfortable king size bed, a modern en suite, with a good shower. The food, while a little on the expensive side, was excellent, you pay for what you get. Every meal was cooked to perfection, and portion sizes went against the norm, not small, just right for us. The pool was a nice touch in a secluded part of the grounds with a bar and a lounging area as well. Le Pommier Hotel might be listed as a 3 Star Hotel, but we think it's better than that.
