Castello la Leccia

We visited for four nights and stayed at Casa Earth. This is a separate building, which has five bedrooms and five bathrooms. Everything is very modern, smart and functional inside. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and all have air-conditioning facilities if required. Outside the views are amazing. The small complex includes other B&B rooms, a beautiful swimming pool, an indoor breakfast area and a tiny little chapel. There are so many little corners where you can hide yourself if required to read, plan the day’s adventures and just soak up the incredible view. Whoever originally built this place had a real eye for stunning views. You can see for miles, towards Siena, San Gimignano and Monteriggioni. Being able to eat outdoors until late evening, watching the sun setting over the Tuscan hills is a big plus point. The breakfasts are very varied, also served outdoors if required. The pool is amazing and again the views from there are stunning. Overall a really classy place but not stuffy. Very friendly staff (Alice & Chiara particularly) and great friendly clientele. We would certainly recommend to others.

WOW! The seclusion of the road onto the property conceals this gem until the last moment. Beautiful grounds and old world (1000 years or so) castle are stunning. The suite was gorgeous. Great light coming into the bedroom and bath. Beautifully appointed with a walk in closet, office area, sitting room and great bathroom. The grounds are gorgeous and the pool was exactly what we needed to beat the heat. The wine was excellent ( Chianti Classsico) was our favorite. Our meal on the terrace was fantastic..the pastas were outstanding and the strawberry soup for dessert was delightful. Breakfast was excellent as well. Great cheeses, fresh fruit, juice and meats are the perfect way to start the day. Prepared eggs can also be ordered and they were done expertly. Finally, the staff was outstanding. From the front desk: Alice, Sara and Constanza to our servers Davide and Claudia and chef Guilio (his preparations complimented by the wines worked perfectly). Stunning property with beautiful views. We stayed here for four nights while traveling in Tuscany. It is a beautifully restored small castle. You enter on a dirt road lined with tall cypress trees. The views on the back of the property are just stunning. Be sure to catch the sunset. We stayed in a double deluxe room which was very spacious, and offered 2 levels, one sitting area and the bedroom with ensuite bath. Coffee, tea, mini bar were included complimentary in the room. The entire staff are so welcoming and accommodating. The breakfast is wonderful, a display of local cheeses, meats, pastries and eggs made to order. The wine tour is complimentary, and highly advise. The guide is wonderful in explaining their wine making process and it followed by a tasting. If you are traveling in the Castellina in Chianti region, Castello La Leccia will offer you the perfect stay!!!

When I dream of staying in Tuscany, Castello La Leccia is what I picture. The superior double room was beautiful, with expansive views and a lovely soaking tub! We loved sitting outside and having a glass of wine and looking out over stunning Tuscany. Breakfast was excellent. The wine was great and we enjoyed the wine tour. We were told it was not possible to eat dinner on the terrace outside because it was too cold. We found the temperature pleasant and part of the motivation for booking was our desire for al fresco dining (still traveling COVID conscious) and to enjoy the beautiful views.

We enjoyed our stay at Castello La Leccia. It is in a stunning location with amazing views. The grounds are beautiful and you can tell they take great pride in their facility. The rooms are very large (we reserved a superior room with separate sitting area). Our room's air conditioning was not working so had a very uncomfortable first night. However, the next day when we let them know, they brought us a fan to the room and worked on fixing it. Due to this malfunction, they reduced our first night's rate, which was a very thoughtful gesture. Breakfast was very good here- they provided made to order eggs and omelets on request. This property has a pool and my husband really enjoyed taking advantage of it in the heat of the day. We had dinner one night at the hotel and found it to be lacking somewhat in quality and quantity and not consistent with our favorable impressions of the rest of the property. We had inquired several weeks before arrival on setting up a wine tasting and we were told to book it upon arrival which they schedule at 4 pm each day. We assumed that meant that space would be held first for in-house guests so we didn't think anything of it and planned to go at 4 pm on the day we arrived. We were surprised when we arrived that they did not have any availability that day even though they had told us to arrange when we were on-site, but told us they could get us in the next day. We already had made other tasting reservations the second day and did not think we would be able to fit in the tasting and were very disheartened that we may not be able to taste their wines, which was one of the main reasons we chose to stay there. We lucked out and got back just in time to get to the tasting but it was added stress that day that we did not need. We did thoroughly enjoy their wines. Overall, we had a great stay here and would return again.

This was our final stop during our Tuscany honeymoon and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to finish our trip. Highlights included: - we hadn’t appreciated how amazing the views from the restaurant are. We enjoyed our best meal all week here. - the wine is delicious, we especially enjoyed the 2018 red. The wine tasting is worth doing - we really enjoyed a pre-dinner spritz in the garden to the amazing views, really relaxing - my wife enjoyed one of the best massages she’s ever had. - on the last night we ventured into castellina in chianti and visited Pizzeria il Fondaccio which we would recommend, tasty pizza for just ten euros
