Riva Del Sole Resort & Spa

After a long and heavy winter, we called this amazing beach resort that we knew from the past years and booked for a couple of friends and us. I just got back from this amazing well needed week vacation! I will not add more.. EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! I cannot see any other resort in Tuscany that has so much to offer , so yes.. I recommend it.

If you want a care free vacation experience, this is not the place. I write this as I’m still here and as a professional in the travel industry I am quite shocked. First, (and not the reason why I am writing this review) I reserved a Classic Room and a Riva Room. The Riva room should be 30% bigger, it is not. The only difference between my two rooms is the Riva room has a small walk in closet, I had no intention of spending an extra 150€/ night for a closet!! Second, if you want to spend your time worrying about towels then this is the place. Went to the beach and got towels. When we left the beach was told we can leave the towels on the chairs. Went to the pool and they wouldn’t give us new towels, as we were told the towels we received at the beach were the same towels we were entitled to for the pool, and that we should talk to the front desk manager. After speaking to the front desk manager I was told I have to stay with the same towels !! Furthermore I was told read the fine print in the towel card, guest are only allowed to change towels 2 times a week. How absurd for a resort! As a travel professional who owns an agency I can tell you, guest do not want to be worried about towels and be schlepping towels around while on vacation. I will not be recommending this hotel to clients and am writing this to advise you the reader as well. Unfortunately, after reading some of the other reviews here on TripAdvisor (and the hotels responses), it appears the hotel refuses to learn from guest feedback (and only makes excuses for their behavior), as it seems I am not the only guest with this sort of experience.

Complete dump . Came over from Ireland and must say is One of the worst run establishments I have visited. Staff are complete ****** from top to bottom. Terrible place terrible people. If the catering staff have one school leaving exam passed between them I would honestly be shocked.

Who ever thought you could get bad food in Italy? I certainly did not! This is a fabulous location with a lot of huge potential for outdoor activity. However, we were turned off by the wretched experience with the food. Come on guys ... it's Italy! Had dinner in the brightly-lit, cafeteria-like atmosphere of the Pizza/Grill and the fish special (we are on the ocean) was terrible. Wanted to dine in the nicer restaurant but the menu was limited, unappealing. I would give this a pass next time and stick with the local trattoria. Front desk, restaurant staff lovely!

We just loved the place! We had rented an apartment for 4 Adults and 2 kids and stayed for one week! We got one of the newly renovated Appartements at the end of the resort which was great as it was very quite and close to the beach! Only downside was the long way to he Spa and main buildings. We swam every morning in the pool and spent the day at the wonderful beach! Staff was very friendly and food in the restaurant very decent!

I have been there with friends and it has been fantastic. Good food at the restaurant, sandy beaches, cocktail bars and lot of fun with the locals. I have alteady booked my holidays for the next year.
