Airds Farm Guest House It's not everyday you get a welcoming committee from a herd of beautiful cows but as we approached the stunning land, upon where Airds Farm sat, we knew we had come across something special. After a delightful welcome from Lyndsay the owner we were shown up to our room. It was faultless. Clean fresh and tidy with everything we needed for a 4 night stay and the view from the bedroom was incredible,acres of fields with Loch Kenn shining in the sunshine. Breakfast was the highlight of our day the selection catered for every desire. Lyndsay was an excellent cook. In the evenings after a day of sight seeing we would settle down in the conservatory which was warm and cosy with a lovely ambience about it. Our stay was faultless and we hope to visit Airds farm again next year. The area is within a few miles of Castle douglas which has some fab eateries and an amazing fish n chip shop. Our stay in Dumfries and Galloway was a runaway success.

This is a business that deserves your custom. The setting is stunning with views over the loch to the hills beyond, Lyndsey is a perfect host, nothing was too much trouble. The room was excellent, the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, however the crowning glory was the breakfast which was superb. If we are in the area again then we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

We had a 2 night stay. Made very welcome on our arrival. We were directed to our room, which was pretty large with a double aspect windows. With a view out front to die for. Lindsay the owner was away our first night. But her housekeeper provided us with a full cooked breakfast, which was fabulous. Not sure there was any negative’s. Perhaps the road up to the farm might be a bit daunting for some. Especially when the cows won’t get off the road in front of you. 🤣 Over all, great couple of days away in a wonderful area.

A very peaceful two-days away in a beautiful corner of Scotland. Comfy bed, massive cooked breakfast, great coffee and entertaining chat from hosts Lindsey and Anna! Don’t forget to have fish and chips from Moore’s just five minutes along the road in Castle Douglas!

A lovely quiet B&B up a long private road in the middle of the rolling Galloway countryside. A lounge and conservatory to watch the wildlife & birds were for guests use. The large room was clean and included all mod-cons with tea & coffee and fresh milk to put in the small fridge in the room. WiFi was surprisingly good for such a remote location. Breakfast was good with a fair selection. But it is remote so your evening meal will need own transport or some planning. Overall a very nice place perhaps suited to those looking for a quiet return-to-nature stay.

During our 3 day stay, which was excellent, I unfortunately became unwell. Lindsey and nurse Jimmy stepped in, took care of me and drove me to hospital. Lindsey saw me through A and E then drove me back to Airds. Her kindness is much appreciated and is indicative of the care and attention she gives to her guests

Our friends stayed there and the husband had a dental emergency and they stepped up to care for him by personally taking them to town. That is above average for a host. I hope that if that happened to us someone would be gracious and help us. They have been amazing in many other ways too. Five stars for graciously caring for strangers.

C'est un endroit merveilleux à l'écart de tout. Il faut traverser un troupeau de vaches pour y accéder. La chambre était parfaite avec une vue magnifique sur la campagne écossaise. La maîtresse de maison fait tout pour nous mettre à l'aise. Elle nous a même prêté sa machine à laver pour laver notre linge sale. Tout est propre et soigné. La maison est entourée par la nature et par des oiseaux qui viennent manger très près. Le petit-déjeuner est très copieux. Il y a tout ce qu'il faut et même du haggis. Pour dîner, il faut aller à Castle Douglas, à 6 minutes.
