Parador 44

My husband and I spent a great evening here as part of our anniversary celebrations. A fabulous hotel with great staff. The restaurant has a varied menu. All meals sounded interesting, exciting, and bit different. Great selection of Spanish wines, gin, even a Spanish cider. Great staff. James was a great maitre ‘d - he couldn’t do enough for us. He seemed very knowledgeable about the food and drink available. Molly was also friendly, helpful and polite. Another delightful waiter was a young gentleman from Seville. I didn’t catch his name. He gave much information and advice when helping us chose meals. He really was an asset to the restaurant. We both had the game as our main meal accompanied by peppers and leeks. The desserts were amazing. Chocolate mousse and a crème Catalan choice bun. What a wonderful evening.

I've stayed in a fair few hotels while travelling solo and some have been nicer than others. This gem, I am pleased to say, has taken the top spot in my list. Spotlessly clean, attentive and friendly front-of-house staff, and care given to the most minute details of the guest experience. The hotel's branded hand soap, usually not very noteworthy, smelled so good I was very tempted to buy a bottle to take home. The bed was very comfortable with a huge amount of pillows, and the room came with a surprisingly spacious ensuite bathroom. Every morning there is a continental breakfast, plus the option of a cooked breakfast for a small charge to your room. I went for the continental every day, but be assured that no expense has been spared even for this - unlike the continental breakfasts you may be used to at big chain hotels, this has a distinctly Spanish flavour, in line with the hotel's theming. The hotel's terrace is also lovely when the sun is out. On my last day I went out there with a cold beer taken from the hotel's honesty bar - write down your name and room and you'll be charged at the end of the stay for whatever you've drunk. There are of course wines and spirits on hand for those who have the taste for it, as well as softs. I have nothing to complain about and I fully intend to stay here again. My only word of caution: Be sure to book well in advance, as this is only a small hotel, and with a service and experience like this, it's not hard to imagine why they are very booked up! Also, be advised that access to the hotel requires going up a set of steps, and access to the rooms requires more steps, so it may not be suited to all travellers. For me, however, it was perfect. This is easily one of the best hotels in all of Great Britain. A little slice of paradise is this parador.

I was thrilled to find this wonderful boutique hotel located in a super convenient area to shopping, bars and restaurants. The staff was fantastic (Adam, Carmen and James) and they were super welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The restaurant staff (Charlotte, Isabella, Matt, Molly and Lewis) were also fabulous as was the food! Rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated. It was super convenient to dine at Asador 44 then literally walk up the flight of stairs to my room. Highly recommend!

Comfortable clean room directly above restaurant so great if dining here. Only the stairs to get home. Otherwise a great central location for visiting Cardiff. Nice patio / courtyard area to sit outside. Car parking is really expensive in city centre so opted to take the train and would do so again. Good hotel with nice breakfast.

One of the best little hotels I have stayed in , staff were friendly and helpful the location is perfect for the stadium and castle. Room have air con , big beds and nice little touches like an eye mask, good hair dryer and bathrobes. The little garden and the honesty bar are great.

What an amazing hotel in the centre of Cardiff. Beautifully designed on the inside. Lovely king size beds and fantastic power shower in the bathroom. Staff were brilliant, from Adam who came to my rescue when I accidentally trapped myself in the bathroom to Charlotte who assisted at breakfast this morning. So many wonderful Spanish touches inside the hotel. I liked the upstairs terrace and the lounge with tea and coffee. An honesty bar is available for those who drink. Breakfast was superb. Continental breakfast is included but a cooked breakfast is available for an extra £5 a night. Please look no further when staying in Cardiff. This hotel justifies its high praise.

This hotel is a treat, starting with friendly staff at check in. It has a Spanish-style design and a Spanish restaurant on the main level (Asador 44). My room was a generous size and the bathroom is beautiful. The sheets were great, the shower was great, and the included continental breakfast was great (you can have a cooked breakfast for just a little more). There’s also an attractive lounge area upstairs with both indoor and outdoor seating. You have to walk up some stairs; there's no elevator. The location is a plus—it’s less than 10 minutes’ walk from the train station, two blocks from Cardiff Castle, and one block from the large pedestrian area (two parallel streets) in the town center. It’s also very close to Principality Stadium if you’re coming for a rugby match. Highly recommend.

Adam was the perfect host and made us welcome from the outset. Every course was perfect and the wine selection was delicious and sensibly priced. Recommend the olives as a snack, the belly pork appetizer and shoulder of lamb for mains. We will definitely be back.

I booked the Parador44 at the last minute with no knowledge of the hotel or the town. But was very pleasantly surpized. Wondeful rooms and great staff. Shout out to Adam snd Giverny who were very helpful. Would stay there again.
