TF Royal Hotel & Theatre

I would only give this a 2 star rating. The staff are lovely, friendly and efficient. Breakfast very good. Although the room was nice & the bed was comfortable it’s a very cramped room. Sadly the bathroom was a huge let down, door handle hanging off, sink not clean, shower really not clean to the point of unhygienic. Toilet makes very loud noise when flushes which lasts several minutes. The state of the bathroom took away completely from all the positives, a clean bathroom is a must.

Decided to have Sunday lunch out. Only 1 roast on offer but not really a big deal. I had the beef burger. My husband had the lasagne. The lasagne was satisfactory but nothing special. The burger was not nice. It was tough to cut into. It was just a big mass of dense meat which didn't taste particularly nice. The bacon was as close to raw as I have ever seen. I was going to complain initially but I absolutely hate doing so. In hindsight I should have and maybe got a replacement that would have been nicer. Lesson learned for the future. The staff on the other hand were so pleasant and welcoming. The young lad who served us was very professional and lovely. I know the manager was made aware of my complaint but he chose not to follow it up with us. Very disappointing. Not sure if I/We would return. Shame really because the dining area looks fabulous.

Some feedback on Abba tribute event on Friday night. The group were fantastic. The layout of the room was completely wrong for a group like this. People sitting to the right of the room had to walk across the stage in a very narrow space to access the toilet and bar. The bar was poorly serviced taking ages to get served. A guy acting as security approached a group of young girls dancing at the second song of the night and told them to sit down. He wandered the event like a grumpy security guard at a demonstration. They left at half time. When we said this to him at the end of the night and he said he didn't want them to fall. We were at an Abba tribute band!!! Who thought no one was going to dance. The facility needs to consider things like this going forward. Thank god it didn't ruin our night as we ignored him and continued to dance .
