Hotel Piccolo Mondo

My mum and I booked Hotel Piccolo Mondo for a few nights in July and it was by far, our favourite place that we stayed. The staff were absolutely incredible! Patricia, the wonderful woman in the kitchen area and the younger girl at the check in (I'm sorry the names escape me) made fresh pots of tea for us every morning and gave us fantastic recommendations. Mum bought a hand made ceramic fish that they wrapped for her and then made a beautiful carry bag for her to take it home to Australia in. The pool has fresh salt water pumped in every night from the sea. The food was fresh and breakfasts were amazing. Our room was always kept clean and tidy by staff. The local town was cute and had plenty of beautiful swimming areas. There was a wine festival on at the time which was a lot of fun! It was just all round an amazing stay. Thank you so much to the ladies at Piccolo Mondo - we will be back!

Piccolo Mondo – Do Not Trust the Photos! This hotel is a total misrepresentation of what is advertised. After two wonderful weeks traveling through Puglia, we chose to finish our trip with three nights at this hotel, based on the website and its beautiful, but highly misleading, photos. While the location itself—overlooking the sea—is undeniably attractive, the quality of the accommodation was shockingly poor. The room was outdated, stuck in the 1980s, with visibly damaged furniture and worn-out fittings. The bathroom was far below what one would expect from a 4-star property. To make matters worse, the internet was completely non-functional for the first two days. The so-called "charming decor" was simply nonexistent. Basic comfort was ignored: the shower delivered cold water after just three minutes. In summary, the stay was deeply disappointing, despite the natural beauty of the surroundings. The lack of attention to guest comfort was glaring, and it became clear that the management has made no effort to maintain the standards they advertise. This hotel absolutely does NOT deserve its 4-star rating. It is no longer justified in any way. Future guests should be fully aware: the quality here is well below expectation. We left after three nights—relieved to go.

We have just had the most divine 3 nights stay at this beautiful hotel. We travelled as 2 couples (60+)visiting from Australia. We could not believe our luck ! The location was second to none. The swims off the rocks on the private beach were sublime. I felt I was dreaming! The facilities (the pool has to be seen to be believed) are conducive to an incredibly relaxing and comfortable holiday. The staff could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Alessandra , the owner, was also there to show us around and tell us the fascinating history of the hotel. Breakfast (included in the incredibly reasonable price) was delicious and served in the gorgeous living area overlooking the ocean. We will return, as will the other guests we encountered during our stay. We were a bunch of very happy customers! Thank you so much Alessandra , Gemma and Maria.

This is a lovely, family run hotel in a stunning location. The hotel itself is simple and comfortable with a warm staff team for whom nothing is too much trouble. Steep stone steps take you down to the sea to swim in deep, clear waters. Above the hotel, the lovely town of Castro - home to the original temple of Athena - has a beautiful square, small bars and restaurants. Don't go expecting glitzy chain hotel sophistication but if you want a perfect spot to swim (in the sea or the salt water swimming pool), read under the pines and relax you could not imagine anything nicer. This place instantly puts you at ease. It is everything you imagine an Italian summer to be. The pool is perfectly located giving you the most incredible views of the ocean below (side note, it is alittle too salty). The staff is helpful and friendly and goes out of their way to making your stay enjoyable. But the buildings are outdated and not comfortable. With some new furniture and a coat of paint, this place could be 5 stars!

This was an excellent choice. Wonderful location, friendly and extremely helpful staff, good facilities. Nice pool. Rooms are self-contained and offer a magnificent view. We were there to help celebrate a family birthday and we are very glad we chose this hotel. Would happily come again
