Pestana Cayo Coco Beach Resort

First time to Cuba and had zero expectations. In my opinion even though things were not perfect our room was one of the cleanest I've ever stayed in. We had a couple of issues where water wasn't working and they worked hard to get it fixed in a timely manner. It was nothing we couldn't handle. There were no shortages and the food was ok. There was roasted turkey and a good pasta station. Pineapple was delicious! Food in the buffet area was always cold and you will see repeat from breakfast to lunch to dinner. There was bread everyday and a great selection of cheeses The chef was so proud and honestly we were able to always find something to eat. They are doing the very best they can! The bathrooms ..always have toilet paper with you and be prepared for missing toilet seats and doors that do not lock. The public bathrooms really need an upgrade and repair but the attendants always did their best to keep it clean and tidy. There was NO SOAP to wash hands which is concerning . Hand sanitizer is a must to have with you. Bathtub is very high so if you have mobility issues it will be difficult!I was very impressed at how hard everyone worked and they were very appreciative of any and all tips and gifts.The entertainment was excellent and that crew deserves huge recognition as they are there from morning to night! Pool area was a blast but they close the bar at 5. Would love to see more games at the pool throughout the day! Lobby bar is gorgeous and coffee and tea was delicious! All and all we will come back to this resort. As first timers we enjoyed every day and were able to always find something to eat. Beach is gorgeous! Excellent vacation! Just remember things will not be perfect but it's nothing you can't handle unless you are super picky.

Very nice people, love the rooms our room had three beds which was amazing, so many fun activities to do, the beach is very nice, beautiful waters and we even saw wild pigs which was so fun seeing. Overall me and my family all had an amazing time here and I definitely would recommend.

Knowing Cuba has had their difficulties, my expectations were set a bit lower than pre Covid. The resort is beautiful and you definitely won’t go hungry. Food options were plentiful, maybe not to everyone’s desires, but there is food! Snack bar had the best chicken salad I’ve actually ever had! Had a slight issue my room but that was rectified within hours of arrival and my new room was fantastic! There is no lack of hot water or water pressure. I was greatly appreciative of that. I did continue to have issues with my key card deactivating but honestly not that big of an issue for me, I was in the lobby area all the time anyway to just have them re loaded. The lobby bathrooms could use some immediate TLC as they are guests first point of contact and what is used during the day. Those would be my only real complaint of the entire stay. Zero issues with the wifi, and cell service was perfect the entire stay. I was able to take important calls from home with no issue. No issues with hydro services during my stay. In all, I had a great solo trip and got the R&R I was set out for at an affordable price!
