It is located at Big Calm, an emerging tiny homesteads community, mid-way between Winlaw and Slocan. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to explore tiny living!The spaceThis home has a fully stocked modern galley kitchen, a queen bedroom loft (accessible by stairs) with storage cabinets, a small work desk/eating area, a spa inspired bathroom with large shower, and a full-sized couch which pulls out to become a double bed. The 10 windows allow for lots of natural sunlight and make this 215sq’ home feel large and open. This space is ideal for one or two people but can accommodate up to four people when the sofa-bed is utilized. There are multiple cupboards, closets, and shelves for you to store your personal items during your stay.Guest accessThe tiny home property has a large yard with a patio set and a fire pit that are available for guests (fires are not permitted during local fire-ban). Guests are welcome to explore the 30-acre property and enjoy the nature trails throughout the forest.Other things to noteIt is not uncommon for there to be bears and other wildlife on the property. Be sure to educate yourself on how to act safely in bear country before visiting the Pocket Getaway.Big Calm Tiny Homestead is currently in the building phase and the Pocket Getaway is the first tiny home available as a guest rental on the property. There are two other tiny homes on the 30 acre property, as well as a converted barn-loft that serves as our hosts' home. There is no cell service in the immediate area, however our property has Starlink satellite providing high-speed wifi.The driveway to the property is a winding, uphill drive for approximately 900 meters and is bumpy and muddy at times. Level 2 EV charger is available upon request. Perfect for a quiet retreat or a base for nearby trail adventures.The property on in a semi-rural area. Guests are welcome to walk in the backyard and enjoy the forest space at the back of the property as well.Please note access to guesthouse is through the grassy backyard area, approximately 80m from the dedicated parking space. We have some lights but if you're arriving at dark, you may want to use an additional flashlight or phone light.The property is not very well suited for those with mobility issues due to uneven ground on the property.Other things to note-please ensure any dogs are on-leash when outside-If you would like to use the EV charger, please let me know ahead of time and I'll provide parking instructions for this- although the guesthouse area is private, guests are required to walk through our grassy backyard (less than 100m) to reach the front door. We clear a path in the winter if there is snow.- there are chickens on the property near the guesthouse. Beautiful 3 bed, 1bath custom log home situated on Crawford Creek. Walking or biking distance to restaurants, shops and the golf course. About 2 km from the beautiful sandy beaches of Crawford Bay. In the winter, the Whitewater Ski hill is about 40 minute (+ scenic ferry ride) away. There is ample cross country skiing on the Kokanee Springs golf course and up Crawford Creek road as well as the spectacular Ainsworth Hot Springs just across the ferry (booking for hot springs required). The cabin has a large private deck and has all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The access from the cabin to the creek bed is unstable and therefore not recommended. Use at your risk.Dogs (2 max) are allowed by request- there is a dog fee per dog, per night. Dogs are not permitted down the creek bed.Maximum 6 people. Outdoor fire pit available seasonally (please respect fire bans). We provide coffee makers, tea and coffee and basic spices for your use. Please do not leave garbage or food items outside or unattended as there is wildlife around this area. Please be bear aware.Covered private deck overlooking the creek. BBQ (propane tank) provided. Wood shed with larch and fir available for the fire pit (seasonally) and wood burning stove. There is also an infrared heater on the wall in the living room.Please respect check in and check out times unless special arrangements have been made. Check in is at 4 pm and check out is at 10 am. Late check outs will result in fines up to an additional night fee. If additional cleaning beyond typical usage is required, additional charges will occur.
