"The Fish Taco Lodge" is an A-frame cabin that sleeps 6-8 people and has 2 bedrooms, a loft and 1 full bathroom. There is a fully furnished kitchen as well. The cabin comes with a private dock to dock your boat during your stay and the lake is a class A musky and walleye lake. It is loaded with eater size walleyes, crappies and jumbo perch and the cabin is close to multiple boat landings. The cabin is also located close to endless UTV/ATV/snowmobile trails for year round trail riding. It is also located just north of Park Falls, WI which is the ruffed grouse capital of the world. The cabin also offers a large, flat yard space for games and camp fires. Have a blissful lakeside stay on the shores of beautiful Butternut Lake in southern Ashland County. Our 2 bedroom, 1 ½ bath cabin is ready for you to create memories! The cabin includes a complete kitchen, dining room, laundry room and large living room complete with wood burning fireplace! Butternut lake is a 983-acre, Class A muskie lake. The cabin is conveniently located near the public boat landing and has trailer parking available. You will find the interior of the cabin is clean, comfortable and a great place to relax! The master bedroom and guest bedroom both have a queen size bed, dresser and closet. Bed linens are furnished for you. All rooms are decorated with the perfect modern yet rustic theme. There is the convenience of 1 full bath with tub and shower and a ½ bath. Ceiling fans are installed in the dining room, living room and both bedrooms. Additional floor fans stored in closets. A limited number of indoor towels are provided; please bring your own towels to use on the lake.Outdoors there is a patio, fire pit, dock and swing. We offer a pontoon rental at an additional cost. Bring your canoe, kayak, or paddleboard to complete your stay on the lake! Firewood is on site for your use to enjoy in the fire pit or living room fireplace, no extra charge! The fire pit also includes a cooking grate for your grilling desires!The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could need to fix a good, home cooked meal. Welcome to The Moss Creek Cabin! This chalet style home is a beautiful, sunny base for all of your island adventures and kicking back to relax in the woods. There is a large deck and a screen porch to lounge and hear all of the wildlife noises. You will be just 2 miles outside of town - far enough to be in nature - but also easy to get around, including walking and biking everywhere. The cabin is on 5 acres of private woods, so you will have plenty of space!Sleeping Arrangements:The master bedroom is upstairs and has a queen bed and a full bed that is fashioned as a daybed, when not in use. This room sleeps 4.There are two bedrooms downstairs. The larger downstair bedroom has 2 queen beds to sleep 4 comfortably. The other downstairs room sleeps 2 with a queen bed and have an office setup with a desk. There is a daybed on the screen porch with a trundle - so weather permitting, up to 2 people can also sleep out there. That brings the sleeping area up to 12 people, but we keep it to 10 in the listing, so that you don't necessarily have to be sardines or sleep on the screen porch if the weather is exciting. If someone wants more privacy in a large group or a rustic experience we have an easy pop up tent that sleeps 4 that we would be happy to set up for you in the yard. Just let us know when you make the reservation!Porch:The porch looks out into the forest and a small creek. We have outdoor lights, patio furniture for a large group to sit comfortably and umbrella for lounging in the shade.Fire Stuff:We have a nice big fire pit in the yard and an indoor wood stove for use in the colder months. We will leave you with wood to enjoy. *Please, please do not bring any wood with you from off the island* There are tree diseases that we don't have here on the island, or are we don't have very bad yet, and we want to keep the forest safe. Sorry for this little PSA! We will supply you with wood and if you run out we have on island resources for you to gather wood from... including gathering fallen wood from the property!Kitchen:There is a whole kitchen setup here to bake, cook, whatever! This is our family cabin, so we have a lot of the kitchen stuff to live life. An oven, stove, microwave, coffee maker, bean grinder, toaster, wine glasses, etc. We also have an herb garden and some fruiting trees, so help yourself to the lemons, kumquats, peaches, cherries, etc when they are ripe!Screen Porch: The screen porch has a picnic table and daybed to lounge and enjoy the breeze on a warm day. Great place for playing cards or reading a book on the daybed. Internet:The internet is super, duper fast! 750 Mbps. I work remotely from the house in the off season and never have any issues working from any room on video - even out of the porch & deck.The TV:We have a TV that has a Roku for watching all of the things.Dogs:Feel free to bring your dogs. There are some other cabins through the woods with dogs and a lot of wildlife around, so just keep an eye on them so that they don't run off.Bathrooms:We have 2 full bathrooms with tubs and showers. This sweet, rustic log cabin is set back from the road and surrounded by trees. With no TV, no Wi-Fi, and poor cell connection, it's a great place for a digital detox. Relax and listen to the music of the wind in the trees.The cabin is completely wood construction, with a cozy open plan. Downstairs has a living area with a wood stove for chilly evenings, a well-equipped kitchen with a large island, a separate dining room (great for playing board games), and a small bathroom with shower and laundry. Upstairs are two open* loft sleeping spaces, separated by a catwalk, each with a queen-size bed. The upstairs loft spaces are under the eaves and have a little less than 6 feet of clearance at the center beam and in the dormers; elsewhere the ceiling slants down at an angle. (*By "open," we mean there is no fourth wall, so not a lot of privacy.)There is a large screened-in porch where you can enjoy the view of the woods in all weather and an open-air back deck that catches sun throughout the day. A separate yoga studio with large windows and tatami mats provides a lovely, light-filled space to stretch or meditate. Additional amenities include a spacious outdoor shower cubicle with hot and cold water, a fire pit, and a Weber BBQ grill. Wooden walkways surround the cabin for ease of access to the back yard, shower, and yoga studio.The cabin was originally built as a spiritual retreat. We love it as a place to truly get away--disconnect from the grid and reconnect with the basics of life. There is a landline telephone with local service for any necessary calls, but there is little or no cell signal, no internet, and no TV to interrupt your serenity. Window fans typically provide sufficient cooling in summer (no AC). Cabin is kept warm and cozy in cooler months by the wood stove and propane heating unit.About a mile and a half away is the town beach, where you can walk sandy beaches, hike through the woods or along the shoreline path to Big Bay State Park, rent a canoe and paddle on the lagoon or to the nearby cliffs, and, of course, swim. In town, about six miles from the cabin, you’ll find groceries, galleries, the Madeline Island Museum*, a fabulous library (with Wi-Fi if you need to connect), and a variety of delicious dining options.* From the museum’s website: The Madeline Island Museum celebrates all of the cultures who have called the island home. Spirit Lodge is located 10 minutes from downtown Madeline Island, and is just over a minute drive from the beautiful Big Bay Town Park. We do allow pets ONLY with a pet fee. We have one full bedroom with a queen bed and tv, one bathroom, and a loft with a queen bed. Our main level has a kitchen, eating area, couch, dining table, and a wood stove fireplace. The basement is just partially finished, but available for you to use. While you are here at Spirit Lodge, we hope you are able to spend plenty of time enjoying our large from porch that over looks the front yard. The front yard is yours to enjoy, it is the perfect place to gather and enjoy a fire. Our year round home is located about 100 feet from Spirit Lodge.
