Grandpa Tom's Maple Farm was voted a Gold Award winner in WV Living Magazines Best of WV competition in 2024 for best maple syrup! NO PARTIES/PARTYING. Any excessive trash, alcohol/beer cans or bottles left on the deck, yard, or fire area and trash left in the yard or firepit will be charged an additional cleaning fee.The cabin has multiple board games and card games for all ages. Adult and children's games. Large variety of DVDs for all ages. TVs in living room and a smart TV in the bedroom that can be used with your cell phone's hotspot! All linens supplied - towels, hand towels, wash clothes, and bedding sheets. Pie iron and roasting sticks available for the fire pit. Firewood is available at an additional cost. Please let us know upon booking if you will be needing firewood during your stay for the outdoor fire pit and/or the indoor fireplace. We ask that the indoor fireplace not be used during Summer months. Should you choose to purchase firewood, the invoice will be sent to you for payment.Outdoor hot tub that seats 7 adults with lights, turbo jets and waterfall. Binoculars available to enjoy the beautiful landscape and wildlife! Pack n Play available upon request for your little one! No smoking inside the cabin. No glass permitted in or around hot tub area. Please keep the hot tub covered when not in use to avoid leaves and bugs getting into the water.Kitchen has all appliances and utensils that can be found in your home. Air fryer, Keurig, teapot, coffee pot, double toaster, smoothie blender, coffee grinder, crock pot, gas range stove, microwave, refrigerator with freezer, ice trays in freezer, garbage bags. The kitchen will also have vegetable oil, sugar, flour, salt, pepper, and an assortment of spices available. Please be aware that the cabin driveway is long and steep going up to the cabin and will require AWD or FWD in Winter months. AWD/FWD recommended but not necessary in off Winter months. Cabin is pet friendly allowing 1 dog under 50lbs. Pet fee is required at booking. Please check the $99 pet fee when paying for your booking please. All renters are responsible for cleaning up after your pet inside and outside. Excessive pet hair on furniture or pet excrement inside the cabin may result in forfeiture of all or a portion of the security deposit. Area includes Walmart, Kroger, multiple gas stations, restaurants, movie theatre, Walk-in clinics, St. Joseph's Hospital. Rock Cave - 12 miles/20 minutes. IGA grocery store, Harper Lumber hardware store, Tri-County clinic, and Tri County pharmacy. WV Wildlife Center - 9.7 miles/16 minutes. Come spend a weekend, week, or more at the River Retreat! Our secluded cabin is situated along the Buckhannon River. We are conveniently located 2 miles from the Hampton boat launch, 3 miles from Upshur County Trails and Recreation Park, and 6 miles from downtown Buckhannon. The space is comprised of 2 bedrooms, a large living area, 2 bathrooms, dining/kitchen area, patio, balcony, and fire pit. Secluded Riverfront Property on Best Muskie River in the State!The spaceThe Muskie-lounge River Retreat boasts a beautiful rural view in all seasons. Enjoy the peaceful woods, firepit, or fishing the Buckhannon River. The section of river bordering the property is known for being prime muskellunge territory. Within a short drive are the Hampton boat launch, Upshur County Trails (for biking, hiking, frisbee golf, and more), WV Wildlife Center, and Fidler Mill.If you're from out of town you may also want to consider exploring well-known attractions such as: Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum (22mi), Stonewall Resort (31mi), Tygart Lake State Park (45mi), Seneca Rocks (65mi), Blackwater Falls (68mi), and Dolly Sods (72mi). This tent has electric hook ups and running water! WiFi is available if you don’t have cell phone service. T-Mobile has the best service. AT&T and US Cellular 80% coverage. You must bring charging cords. Furnished with a queen size mattress and queen air mattress. We offer outdoor insta heater shower. Firewood bundles are stacked inside with roasting sticks. There is a grill and propane tank on site with grilling utensils, cutting board. Plates and silverware provided. We have a mini fridge with a small freezer. You will also find a 4 cup French press and water kettle. Bug spray and hand sanitizer on site! A propane heater is available upon request for winter months. Be cautious of wildlife and look for WARNING signs. We have a private shooting range in the bottom fields of the property so you may hear gun shots April- August. For winter months Oct-April water supply will be limited.
